My hair loss has progressed on 1mg of finasteride daily. It hasn't progressed significantly, but I would prefer maintenance over slowly becoming a slaphead. Should I add minoxidil or switch to dutasteride? I'm a diffuse thinner. I'm coping atm hoping it's just a shed.

At some point .. It’s overall a hormone issue.. So take 200 mg Spirolactone a day ..And see if your hair starts coming back.. You can start w) 50 mg..
Currently am taking 200 mg .. With no side effects & thickening hair & less greasy/acne skin..

hi i have been on finasteride and minoxidil for over 30 years still got a good head of hair .this combination is the best according to my hair consultant ,do not have it mixed into the solution its not as effective.
My consultant recommended a good dose of quality protein powder a day as hair is basically made of protein so that make sense and my hair grows very fast.i use a Tony Maleedy hair and scap therapy shampoo she recommended and it calms my scalp its briliant .
I also use a laser cap every other day im now 57 and happy with my hair i hope this helps

Hi i think its a combination of everything including the cap and try a dermal roller to get blood flow to the scalp,my consultant in the uk who as been on tv on a hair loss series puts a camera on my scalp and takes photos she then showed me on the lap top and my hair is thicker than a year ago.
You need a good hair supplement with zinc and vit d in in it etc.
Try the minoxidil lotion but dont be scared if you see excess shedding as that the new hair growth pushing out the old
I put a crushed up tablet of certrazine in my minoxidil this is an antihistamine drug and stops the body attacking its self i also have a couple of tablets a day they are off the shelf and really cheap.
If your not doing the minoxidil try the certrizine in distilled water and apply to the scalp it will calm it and help protect the folecule attack.
There is good evidence on certrizine helps hair loss .

I did have a home blood test kit as organised by her and i was low on iron and feritin it cost £60 but worth it.
stick with ur tablets and add minoxidil remember you loose up to 100 hairs a day and get on the protein.
There is an alopica drug being released over here for those effected but it costs a £1000 a month and grows new hair from dormant cells it wont be long before they crack it so hold onto to what u have until then
