Stop and Restart Minoxidil 5% (Will it Work?)

Was on Minoxidil 5% for a year and getting good results without much shedding in the beginning.

Decided to stop due to the dryness I feel after every application thinking that it was ok to stop.

3 months after stopping I noticed balding on the top of my head, much worse than when I first started. Have been back on Minoxidil for about a month and shedding is really bad, I can see my scalp clearly now. Photos of my current condition now.

Am I going to get my hair back? Anyone stopped and got back on Minoxidil please share your experience. Thanks!

Hi, I also stopped minoxidil and lost a lot of hair. Then when I restarted shedding was really really bad. Just like you, I didn’t have much shedding when I started minoxidil the first time, but the second time it was hell. But now, almost six months in, I am seeing a lot of regrowth and my hair looks a lot better than before restarting minoxidil.

Thanks for sharing. May I ask when did the shedding stop? Or when did it get better? It is so depressing now..

My hair looked at its worst one-two months in. As of the third month it started getting better.

You should add hair oils or hairloss oils to help moisture the scalp will help you, you could restart and add a derma roller to boost more results..
