Stopping dutasteride due to shed- will shedded hair return?

No, it’s not just male pattern baldness. I was catching it early. My hair actually wasn’t bad at all, I had a very slight receding hairline for the past 5 years. Been on dutasteride for a month, lost quite a bit of ground. Absolutely shedding.

if I stop now, will the shedded hairs come back?

Yes. Shed hairs will grow back for the most part. Some that were on the verge of miniaturization beyond the point of no return won’t return. A shed is a good sign though, it means you’re a responder. Personally I’d wait it out

I would advise not stopping at only the 1 month mark but it is up to you.

Thanks guys. I'm glad I can expect these hairs to come back. Normally I would take the risk, but the thing that worries me is all of those stories of people who shed for like well over a year, and they go from a full head of hair to next-tp-nothing. Sure it may come back the next month, or even yet another year later. But at what point does it go from, "This is temporary" to "Okay, this is me now"? I suppose it's all perspective. And I suppose it could come back thicker and stronger, even in another month or so... But those anecdotes, scientific data aside, seem few and far between. Most I see involve the hairs constantly shedding with no return.

Speaking of no return, are we sure the shedded hairs will come back if I stop? Just want to be sure... I hear stories where while after the shed things thicken... the shedded hairs don't return.

Thank you!
