Stopping minoxidil. Help/advice Required.

Hey guys, I need some advice from the experts/experienced among you.

Basically, I have been using Regaine for around 3 months with good results (despite some annoying sides). Given that my current situation isn't all so bad (yet), I had only set out to use minoxidil to ward off my hairloss until something better comes along in the near future.

However, I'm aware that the regrown hair can be described as "dependant" on the minoxidil. Let's say, hypothetically, I regain/maintain fairly well for a couple of years and something better arrives, if I discontinue minoxidil use will I then be fucked? Would all of the dependant hairs disappear and leave me with an nw4 in just a few months? Or would new treatments be able to build on the minoxidil hair i've maintained?

Any help and advice appreciated. I apologise for my lack of knowledge and any unknown idiocy i may be spouting.

You will revert back to where you would be if you never used minoxidil.

Sorry, just to clarify, that means if i stopped minoxidil after 2 years of use, i'd have two years worth of hair loss in a massive shed?

That's exactly it, your hair loss is progressing behind the curtains.

Well that's terrifying

It's a horrible quandary because it works well for me. But if it's all a lie, won't last forever, and will just mean i lose it all horrendously quickly then i may as well not bother

Has anyone reading this got any experience of this mass horror shed after stopping minoxidil? Should I just not bother?

minoxidil is sheet.
At some point it will lose its effectiveness and you loose everything
