hey all, i decided to stop propecia for a week or two because i've been extremely tired in the morning and throughout the day from trouble sleeping and just extreme light headedness and just being plain dazed in the morning. as i'm a college student and i have soccer practice in the morning i've been finding this extremely difficult to deal with and my performance has suffered, and this was all only on .25mg of propecia daily. i think some of the reasons that could be realted to the strong reaction i've been having to it would be the fact that i came off accutane only two months ago and my body may need some down time. with that said my hair is getting thinner and thinner each week and i dont want to stop treatment at all, so i plan on cleansing my liver and body for a solid week and hopefully then resuming treatment. if anyone has had any experience with the tiredness from the drug let me know. thanks

bloated? i dont think thats a side effect

It certainly can be due to the rise in testosterone being converted to estrogen and raising estrogen levels. Higher estrogen levels can cause water retention and bloating.

are you sure the .25 mg you were taking are causing all that? it could be just a couple rough weeks..

I take finasteride in the evening, because I was worried it was making me sleepy.... might just be in my mind.

Be careful though, I went off Propecia for 3 1/2 weeks and lost some temple hair which I had maintained while on Propecia during the past 3 months. So in effect some of that hard work done by Propecia for me went to waste as I was then in no better position had I never been on the drug in the first place.

Wasn't too bad though, it was only little bit, and I think some of it is recoverable via a bit of minoxidil. But it's just a warning, 2 weeks is fine but anything after that and you may consider needing to go back on it unless your willing to accept losing some of the hair (if any) that was maintaned by propecia for you.
