Strange Libido Pattern?? HELP

Hey,

I've been on propecia for about 5 months and getting some small results.. The first few months my Libido was fine if not higher than normal! but the last 3-4 weeks its really dropped off... freaked me out and I've stopped taking it the last few days!

Will this continue or will it come back????

Should I start taking it again???

Any suggestions???

Hi CTrain, I have been on proscar (same stuff) for about 6 months, I too have the same problem, although this week I seem OK, last week I had no desire and so on

I would stick it out and if things get worse after 12 months then stop the propecia, I'm hoping things will start to normalize soon

I'm starting to wonder if once people's hormones balance out on finasteride, they become dependent on it. It seems everyone who claims having "permanent" side effects comes off it after being on it for a long time. I've been taking a break from finasteride the last week to make sure I still have a sex drive. I thought it would come back in a few days but it still has not. I came off it once before, but that was after one month. I've been on it for about two this time, and it's taking longer for my libido to return. Kinda makes me scared to take it long term. I'm a little scared right now, seeing as how it hasn't returned yet. Thinking of giving it up again for good. I still have topical spironolactone, which I haven't really given a chance yet.

Yeh I know what you mean... I'm worried about the long term stuff aswell.
but I'll keep taking it for a while and see what happens...
Bit depressed at the moment anyway... the GF just broke up with me so the libido thing probably doesnt matter anymore... (The breakup wasnt coz of the Side Effects or thinning either)

come off it for a week and you'll notice the difference. It's crazy. 0.5mg is my threshold for waking up 'hard' anything above that and nothing happens.
at 0.5mg It's still a half erection but it's so damn hard to split a prosar 5mg tablet into 1/10ths!
