Hi,

I have long hair (how long? - it sits on the top of a shirt collar). I am also thinning. What products would you recommend for styling?

I've heard that American Crew & L'Oreal Vive are good ranges.

I looked at the American Crew range, but I don't know what product is best for me. With my long hair, should I get the fiber, the paste, the wax, the pomade... ??????

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Personal opinion: I'd get a shorter cut if you're thinning. I know longer hair is back 'in' for guys lately, but less is more for thinning hair.

On the products front, I like Label M soft wax (available from Toni & Guy / Essensuals salons) for slightly longer styles. Easy to apply, dries to a matt finish, provides control with a little hold.

I used American Crew stuff for a long time, and I don't reccomend any of their stuff. I still have a bunch of it. The styling stuff for the most part is heavy and if you have thin hair I think it looks bad.

Yes, if you must keep your hair long then try not to use any products, in my opinion they will not help.
