Ok here is a definitive look at my hair just to give everyone a good idea of its situation. I’ll add an update in a few months, equally a*** in nature, for a proper comparison. Whilst my hair has not miraculously regrown, it has improved to an extent far beyond what one can realistically expect, and therefore should be considered apt for inclusion in this section.
First a brief history:
I'm 23 from the UK. First noticed hair loss when I was 20 but it must have started before then. Decided to follow the path of the ostrich for a year before accepting the vile truth; then decided to follow the path of the person living in the 70s and accept I was doomed as I believed you could do nothing about it; Then about 8 months later decided to follow the path of the 21st century man with access to the internet and actually research what could be done about my miserable situation. By the time I discovered this website I imagine I was probably an NW2.5-3 and whilst my hair had not really declined much in over a year t'was only a matter of time. Inspired by Sighconot and Dietcola I jumped in to the Big 3 in march2007 and quickly responded to their medicinal qualities, suffering no side effects in the process. However, whilst seeing excellent regrowth, alot of the new hair seemed to stop growing or slow immeasurably once it reached about 4-5cm. As a result I'm not sure I can stand as a shining beacon of success, more of one with a healthy glow.
This post will be fairly detailed, showing my hair from most possible angles in order to give people an objective look at my hair and the results I have achieved. In the past year I have gotten a better camera and a greater talent for photographing my scalp, so I'll stick to the only great base pic I took and then flood your senses with the newest snaps. For a more evolutionary look at my cranial cover, see my story, linked in my signature. I have been on this forum for over a year and have only ever contributed with my photos as my knowledge of the mechanics of male pattern baldness are sketchy at best. Therefore I hope this will be my most useful contribution to date.
Ok so I would say to summarise that my hair was in an Norwood 2.5-3 configuration 15months ago, with solid density but a fractured hairline that suggested it was far more than a mature one. Since then the vertex has thickened and the overall shape is a solid nw2 with a nascent nw1 form. The hairs that fall between the nw2-1 range are shorter and less dense, but are terminal. Only the front 1cm of my vertex has been completely unfazed by man's attempts to conquer nature. I cannot offer definitive proof, but since adding tricomin in march, my hair has continued to improve, and I pray that (not that I believe in a divine creator) the short hairs will convert to longer ones and i can post updates in 6 months that makes you all bow before me unk: .
In order to give you an overall picture of my hairline as a way of gauging what a regimen starter can expect, I'll give you a baseline picture to start, followed by pictures of the hairline, left temple and right temple; each with the hair pulled back and pushed forward, to show the shorter hair. Also I’ll try and show the difference in lengths. Finally a cosmetic comparison at the end between pre-regimen and per-regimen. The hair has wax in it.
Anyway here is the best baseline photo I have from march 2007:
now, in comparison, is the hairline now, with the hair back:
this is the hair line with the shorter hair forward:
left temple hair up:
left temple hair down:
right temple hair up:
right temple hair down:
Ok and these photos show in a bit more detail the difference between the shorter and longer hair :
