Hello all,
I have read through a lot of forums, especially the Success Stories but have not really posted that much. I mean cmon who wants to be depressed about hair loss all the time right ? Anyways, I noticed my hair starting to thin around the age of 22/23, I am 26 now. It was nothing really noticeable and since male pattern baldness runs on my dads side I figured such as life. Well as it started to worsen over the next few years it started to affect my confidence and I realized that I needed to do something about it. Well I decided to take the plunge and get on finasteride and nizoral. I have been on these for roughly 3 months and while its too early to expect regrowth of any sorts (esp w/o minoxidil) it has helped in other ways. After the first month or so I could definitely tell that I was losing less hairs in the shower and on a daily basis. Before I could notice hairs on my desk at work and on my shirt from time to time. That alone made me feel much better about this whole "losing your hair ordeal". Another big plus was I noticed my hair would become much less greasy as the day would go on. Even when I had really thick hair if I had showered at 8 am by like 9 pm it would start to look oily and I would usually just wash it again if I was going out or what not. As I started to lose some thickness by the end of the day this became more and more evident that my hair was thinning and I did not care for that one bit haha. Well where I was going with that is that after taking finasteride for a few months I have noticed the oiliness has decreased a decent amount which has me delighted. Now I know this isnt like a NW4 to NW1 success story but I know I always like to read positive articles. Just a point to add I have not suffered any sides from finasteride that I am aware of and if anything my sex drive has kicked up a notch, the exact opposite of all the warnings stating this drug can reduce libido haha.
