Hi!
After 14 years of keeping my hair on Finasteride without any sign of worsening, I suddenly had a rapid decline. In May I saw that my hair was thinner on the front. I first thought that taking finasteride every other day like I did since last year might be the reason for it. But my hair got thinner and thinner. I always had diffuse hair loss all over the top, but until this year i still had basically a full head of hair. Also my front is growing much slower than the rest of my hair in the last 2 months.
I added Ru in August and started taking dutasteride 2x a week in addition to finasteride. However my hair loss still continuous. My hair is really thin now especially at the hair line. I'm at a loss why this occurs. I heard of the effectiveness of finasteride decreasing after time, but to me it seems this loss is like I have stopped taking finasteride all together.
So, the only thing I still have is adding minoxidil. I was always glad that I could avoid the topical route and keep my hair with finasteride. But now it seems this is the only proven hair loss remedy I'm not using. And the hope for some regrowth is also there.
Also, I'm considering dropping RU, because it didn't show any sign of stopping my hair loss in 4 months. And the success stories on it are anecdotal at best.
But will it even do me any good? If my hair loss isn't stopped, what good will minoxidil do? I'm really at my wits end, 14 years with great success and suddenly a rapid loss that is staggering!
