Hi my name is Benny, I have been slowly thinning at my crown since freshman year of college. I grew my hair long and it began thinning at the crown. I cut my hair short and it went away for a while (since the hair was shorter the perceived thinning went away. Two years later I began getting very thin again. So I started Rogaine shampoo. After about one month all hair thinness was gone and I had wonderful regrowth. I was almost back to 100% when me and my girlfriend started noticing sexual side effects.
My stamina and erection size were effected in a very negative way. I was once again terrified and hopeless in my battle of hairloss. I went to a urologist and he told me to cease using the Rogaine which is most definately the issue. I stopped and everything returned to normal in that department. Despite this about two to three months later my hair is worse than ever. I am more than depressed and hopeless in my battle for hairloss. Everyone says to use Procepia but after having sexual side effects with Rogaine I am more than against using Procepia.
At this point in the game I might just want to run to a hair transplant specialist and get my hair done. I cannot bear to live with a bald crown or head, call me vain but I am 21 years old (my birthday was 5 days ago) and It is all I ever think about.

I take biotin 500mg per day, plus Nozoral 2% shampoo (perscription), these don't seem to be helping at all. I just want to keep my hair (minimal regrowth without sexual side effects). Is there any hope?

That's odd that rogaine has had that side effect on you. It hasn't on me and I've used it for quite some time. I'm sorry for what you're going through but I think you should get a second opinion on rogaine from a professional. Propecia is known to have that side effect more than rogaine

Im taking like 1/2 a dose of rogaine once per day in the evenings, hopefully it won't effect me sexually and it will help me regrow.

If i feel a sexual change im done with rogaine and im shaving my head =(.

Rogaine / Minoxidil won't give you sexual side effects. Only side effects you can expect from that are irregular heart beats, scalp inflammation and sebum, and thicker facial hair.

Would still recommend you using an anti androgen though.

I think Biotin will take a fair bit longer than 5 days to have any effect that goes for nizoral aswell.

The nizoral is a bit of a hit and miss, it will certainly make your hair feel thicker and may reduce hair shedding in about 1-2 weeks, it certainly reduced my shedding but my hair is naturally as thick as treacle anyway.
