Hello hairloss battle brothers, this is my first post here and I'd like to get some information from more experienced hairloss veterans.
I was on finasteride only ED (1.25 mg - 1/4 Proscar) for about 12 months now,and I could say that it has probably maintained, but unfortunately it seems that I did not gain the thickening and regrowth I wanted from the beginning ( I know that the main purpose of finasteride is actually to stop hair loss and to maintain). As for my hairloss,I'm Norwood 2/2.5 receded temples and perhaps a diffuse thinning prominently at the crown, nothing terrible but not great either. And I did not have any sides on finasteride.

So the thing is that I want to start new regimen (starting on monday 20.05)

  1. DUTASTERIDE 0.5 mg AVODART ED

  2. MINOXIDIL 1ml 5% LIPOGAINE ED at night only, after 3 bottles I will switch to Kirkland brand

  3. KETOCONAZOLE 2% 2-3 times a week MYCOSEB (same as NIZORAL),T-gel and H&S every other day

  4. MICRONEEDLING once weekly with Dr.Pen A1w starting at 1.5mm later I would increase it up to 2m

So,the question is,how should I start taking dutasteride ? Should I start 0.5 ED and ditch finasteride or continue to take finasteride with dutasteride ED for a week, month ? I've also read about a loading phase with 1 or 2.5 mg for a week but that doesn't seem like a good idea ...Since I'm a med student I talked with my professors (dermatologists and an endocrinologist) about starting dutasteride and they said that it is fine to switch to dutasteride if I'm unsatisfied with results,of course they also said that there is risk of side effects like with any other possible drug in medicine, but with finasteride and dutasteride they are considered relatively tolerable and safe.

And for how many times can I reuse catriges for dermapen if I disinfect them with 70% alcohol ?

THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE !!!

I would switch straight from finasteride to dutasteride. I recommend a loading dose for the first 10 days of starting dutasteride to help it build up in your system. I suggest you take 1.5mg a day for the first ten days, and then 0.5mg a day from then onwards.
There is a greater risk of side-effects with dutasteride than finasteride, but the risk is still low. I would estimate that for finasteride, about 20% of users get some sort of side-effects, but only about 2% have side-effects severe enough to have to stop treatment. The figures for dutasteride would be slightly higher than this, but not much higher.

Have you tried Nizoral 2% 3 times a week before? Cause that fried my hair completely and made my hair stand right upwards. Reducing it to once a week (2 times max) and adding hair moisturising shampoo/conditioner helped alot.
