Hi,
I have been on orals since 8/1999. No sides. Started with Propecia 1mg a day then generic finasteride 1 mg to until 11/2019 then switched to finasteride 5MG broken up into 1/3's daily.
I recently consulted with a hair transplant Doctor and I did PRP. My scalp feels great, hair is soft but too early to report results. He also suggested switching the oral finasteride 5 MG to topical finasteride 2.5% with 5% minoxidil Lipoderm gel. I tried it and the gel is hard to apply and cover all of the areas. I am not bald, only receding hair loss but wavy hair conceals it well. I have this circular cowlick that has gotten thinner since fall 2019.
My questions to the group are: 1) Has anyone successfully switched without major loss and had good results with this type of combo?
My concern is I was protected with the orals since 1999 so obviously it is working well and no sides but I am very concerned I will not be able to adequately cover the areas that include the front hair loss.
Thoughts? Insight?
