systemical absorbtion of topical finasteride

Does anyone know how much % finasteride is absorbed if used topicaly??

There have been no studies that I know of. The very fact that Propecia is oral makes me think that a topical solution wouldn't work as well. Otherwise, the pharmaceutical company would have tried that route (most likely would have been fewer side effects).
