I'm honestly not sure. Hairs come out while in the shower but I don't know if it's anymore than the amount that came out when I was younger because I didn't think about losing my hair when I was a teenager. Can't be much help on that question I guess.

Well dude from what i can tell, you are receeding at the temples. But that doesnt say much. Any history of male pattern baldness in family? That's by far the BIGGEST factor/indicator of where you'll most likely end up.

Please show us the uncensored version of the first pic. :D

In all honestly it's tough to tell. You do basically have a mature hairline as evidenced by the second to last pic with your hairline exposed, but that may be as far as you go. 96% of caucasian men lose their juvenile hairline sometime in their lives but that's as far as many of them go. The ideal thing to do would be to go to a dermatologist who can look at your scalp under magnification perhaps, and determine if there is miniaturization occuring behind the hairline, or elsewhere on the head, like on the top or in the crown.

There is one thing that you could do though. Soak your whole head and then comb it back. Take some pics with it just slicked back after you've run your hands through it, and a couple with the hair messed up. This would give us a better indication perhaps, because wet scalp tends to reveal thinning more.

I agree with WoW, your hairline is receding and you most likely have Male Pattern Baldness. I think you have done the right decision to start a treatment. You have already chosen very potent treatments. Use the Rogaine foam, Finasteride (use generics Finpecia or even Fincar in order to save you money!) and Nizoral shampoo. Like that you have a VERY good chance of maintaining your hair and maybe even regrowin a little bit.

Good Luck, mate!

Taugenichts, you are aware that some men do get a mature hairline without male pattern baldness, aren't you? WoW may very well be wrong. Family history is a good indicator in cases like this. If his mom's dad and dad and dad's dad are all bald, for example, chances are it is the start of male pattern baldness.

yea i would go to a derm, if it is just the hairline and nothing more it would be a waste of cash, but if it is male pattern baldness.
Get on treatment fast and u can prob maintain well.

Yeah, I am aware of mature hairlines, but his one looks receded too far imo particularly since he is only 20. I might be wrong but he should see a doctor and ask for his opinion or post better pictures.

Family Baldness is all over the place. Mom's dad was balding/pretty bald by age 29. Not sure about my dad's dad, he died a long time ago, never asked. One of my mom's brothers gave up on his hair and starting shaving his head in his 20's. Her other brother didn't start balding till around his 50's. My dad said his brother was always concerned about his receding hairline but even today at age 46 he has very thick hair. My dad had very thick hair until he started losing a little at around 45 (although it's been gray since he was 12 haha). Regardless, I didn't know about seeing the dermatologist for their advice, I might have to do that. Thanks.

i'm with these guys, my hairline was like yours 1 year ago at 20. if you look at my story in the stories forum you'll see i've receeded much further now. i don't think you have very good chances of staying where you are it's going to keep receeding. look in the pic of you holding back your hairline. notice how your hairline isn't sharp and defined, it looks like someone air brushed it into the forehead. this is because smaller hairs on the outskirts of the hairline are still there but are going to fall out. it's like the long grass you walk through before entering the forest haha. do something about it now so you don't kick yourself later.
