Taking antibiotics for acne while on propecia - SAFE?

Hey guys.

I have been taking prescription drugs for my acne since I was 16. I am almost 22 now. For the past two years I have been taking an anti biotic called oxytetractline, prescribed by my doctor.

But unknown to my doctor I have self prescribed myself generic propecia (proscar/finpecia) for almost two years now.

Is it safe to mix these drugs?

I usually take the antibiotics at 6pm and my finpecia at 11pm before I go to bed.

I will never understand why people won't see there doctor for hair loss if they have the means to do so.

You should see a doctor. Dr Rogers told me he gets some acne caused by taking propecia. If you take something for acne then you might be gettign drugs to fight against each other...not good. Tell you Doctor your on something before taking other things.

i hardly ever get acne now that i'm on propecia. u might not even need your antibiotics anymore.

stay away from antibiotics. i took them for a long time until they quit being effective. as soon as i went off, my hair started falling out like crazy. could have been a coincidence, but i doubt it. propecia actually cleared most of my acne

Stay away from antibiotics if you're experiencing hair loss. They may be the reason why your hairloss was initiated in the first place (which was the case for me) since they cause an increase in DHT levels by killing your gut bacteria.
