Im currently 16 and I am considering finasteride, im currently a norwood 1 but experiencing thinning on my sides and a bit on my crown , Im certian im going bald since my whole family ( male side) started at a very young age.

Im considering propecia because although im still 16 and dht is important for development, I am about 6’0 ft tall, I have a genetically gifted physique , Can grow hair a full beard and body hair almost everywhere , And I would like to think im pretty mentally matured aswell.

My Hair is a huge factor for me and by starting propecia i can probably save what i have till a cure arises . Any opinions ?

finasteride won’t fully stop it for you but it will slow it down

Go for it if you want. There is a possibility of sidesnwhich you just have to accept

How come it says 83% of keeping what you currently have then?

Your body is still developing, a beard isn't a sign of maturity. Males can develop up to 26 years of age. You could possibly mess yourself for life. Post a few pictures for evaluation. Most likely your seeing a LITTLE bit of scalp and freaking out

Do not touch finasteride, or any other antiandrogen. You have a very real chance of f*****g yourself up. I took it for 3.5 years and noticed some weight gain so I dropped it. Since being off it I gained a sh*t load more weight and have experienced sexual side effects. Problems that in my opinion trump hair loss. If you are really 16, I doubt a doctor would give you a script for finasteride anyway.

If you are really just starting to lose your hair, you have other options. Dermarolling is probably the most effective thing you can do when paired with minoxidil. There’s also castor oil which in my opinion is the best bang for your buck. Legit grew new hairs. Really works just is a hassle having it in your hair. I would recommend those over altering your hormones and possibly f*****g up your body.

Well what about somethint like saw palmetto or s5 cream? Heard those have no side effects.

Basically what i want in this point in time is just thicker hair density , i dont have any bald patches or receding areas ( probably will soon) So any product that can thicken what i have would be ideal , I also dont want the thinning to progress. Any suggestions?

Ya im not receding or thinning on the crown(or probably started receding but it isn’t noticeable) ,
So all im looking for is too halt the progression of further thinning and too add density and thickness
Any suggestions?
