Facial and body hair are not accurate gauges of DHT. Hair loss is not caused by high DHT or Testosterone it is caused by higher levels in the follicle as well as increased AR activity. Some of the androgens in the blood stream could reach the follicle to cause issues but the main issue is 5AR becoming more active and converting more Testosterone into DHT which is a much stronger AR agonist in the follicle. The stronger AR activation coupled with increased enzyme activity seems to then also increase inflammatory chemicals and oxidative stress.
Yeah its a shame we dont have a legit way to actually attack male pattern baldness from an AR angle. That would really help stacking an RU/CB with propecia or dutasteride would really improve results. RU and CB though are research chemicals right now. They arent legit treatment options unless your desperate to be a guinea pig which I know some men on here are.
Okay so last evening i took 0.25 finasteride (1 mg split in 4) and woke up with a boner lol, i usually never have morning woods.
Okay, one week on finasteride, not a single side yet. So far i am having harder erections than before starting it.
I have extremely low DHT i suspect, since i have almost no facial hair and very little body hair.
Is it worse to take finasteride while you already have low DHT or is it irrelevant?
Thanks
The real truth, of course, is we dont know. I dont think there is any huge pattern to it. All you can do it is try, and see what happens. That kind of sums up our knowledge of male pattern baldness so far too. Try things, and hope for the best because no one really knows.
