tattooing instead of topik

i use topik & i think it's a great product, but i was wondering if it's possible to just tattoo in the area of your scalp where you use the topik, since all topik does is darken the scalp where your thinning to eliminate the contrast between the scalp & hair. say you have brown hair & you use topik to fill in the balding spot on the back of your head, but you still have hair back there, you could just have someone tattoo in some color to your scalp the same color of your hair, or some hair like tattooing. it would be permenant & less messy than topik. you would probably have to shave the area temporarily i imagine for the procedure. i was wondering if anyone did this & what it looks like. does tattooing destroy hair follicles? if so then that answers my question here....

Sounds like it'd have some pretty unacceptable consequences as you continue to bald...

well in my case i already lost all my hair on top. i was a class 5 + & most of the area is filled in by transplants. but there still is some thin spots that look good with topik. i'm not balding anymore. so anything i do would be permemant.....

No, don't tatoo your head. a tatoo is permanent and you have no idea how it's going to look and if it looks bad, there's NOTHING you can do.

Also, toppik doesn't just "darken your scalp", the fibers are almost like your own hair, it fills in thin spots depending on your hairstyle making your hair look fuller in general. Tatooing your scalp will not give you the same effect as toppik. It wouldn't even give you the same effect as dermatch or couvre considering that tatoos generally fade in color due to sun exposure and it would look real weird having a blackish/gray mark under your blackish(or whatever color) hair.

There's been some talk here about scalp dyes. Look around and consider that maybe instead.

Apparently the tattoo teqnique can look reasonable for a few years but generally ends up looking a mess as the ink turns greenish and dots become larger.

I'm sure if you go to a permentant make up artist, and not a normal tatoo parler, and you just get a few dots made, and you look in the mirror to make sure they are good before you pay for anything big, you can get a good job in the short run. the problem is tatoos tend not to stay in the same place. they smear. Maybe some inks don't, but a lot do, hence the bigger dots. Also, the color is a mixture of colors, each of which reacts to the sun differently, so that color changes instead of just fading. But a hat can slow that down, and you could do touch up coloring.

tatooing has been done with failures, but maybe it can be done right. If you have no hair at all, you will want the root approach. If you thin hair, you can do an even spread that is a few shades lighter than your hair. That gets around the smear issue, but would look bad up close if lose more hair.

I was told that hair dyes dye the scalp a few hours to a few days depending on how permenant they are, so that is out of the question. I'm looking into thinkening shampoos right now.

once you have a girlfriend, having hair she can't touch will ruin a lot of stuff. She touches mine a lot, but so far has not noticed how thin I am.
