I'm sure others will be able to give you better advice, but I searched Amazon for 'rubber repair' and found some things.

That said, will it hold? Will it cause more damage? I do not know any of these answers so do plenty of research or search online. Even the repair kits for bicycle tires might do? Who knows lol. But worth reminding you that these chemicals can and will be toxic so you may not want them to be in constant contact with your skin.

There's also google -

Good luck!

Just a bit of tape over it and it’ll be fine. You can fix it with the above methods, but I found that this just put stress on other areas of the base. Just be careful with that part when removing.

Very simple, especially if you already use tape. Attach any, Hair system, tape to the tear and brush a scalp protector on the sticky side afterwards.

I typically get 2 reinstalls before having to replace the repair tape.

Do you got some hints when the sides of the system are beginning to tear apart ? Is there anything I can do to prevent that the crack on the sides will not further develop ?

Best advice for a small tear on the far edge only... would be to trim the tear away, so there's no more tear... Otherwise it will continue to grow.

Cut it out ?
Yes, remove the torn section with scissors, until there is no more tear

Unless it's a quarter inch or longer. In which case, it would be better to use regular hair system tape, on the tear and apply scalp protector to the exposed sticky side afterward.

There are some tapes especially for this case. They are single sided and of course clear
3M makes one, the name escapes me, bought on Amazon. To make it hold better, we put a smaller, ultra hold over the tear, and the 3M tape was used as a patch.

If you're dealing with a tear in a poly system, the best approach depends on the material and size of the tear. For smaller holes, you can use a patch or tape specifically designed for poly repair. However, for larger tears, a more thorough fix might be necessary, such as sewing the tear or using a specialized poly adhesive. If you're looking for professional help, consider reaching out to Lotus Repair—they specialize in fixing poly systems and can ensure a seamless and durable repair. They’ll also help with maintenance tips to prevent future damage!
