Good morning everyone.

I started noticing thinning and patches in June and each month it seems to be getting worse and worse. I went from normal to this in five to six months.

Is this telogen effluvium due to stress or male pattern baldness?

I have been on Rogaine twice a day since June with no improvements.

Thanks for your help!

Looks kinda like my hair loss, but I blame the Accutane for my case. For you though, I’m not sure. It’s 95% of the time male pattern baldness. But if you want to make sure it’s not the 5%, go to a dermatologist and get tested for basic nutrients, thyroid, etc. Telogen Effluvium to this extent IMO is rare and would cause a lot of shedding.

If it’s male pattern baldness, finasteride I think would help you.

I would say telogen effluvium can hardly let your scalp be seen, so I would say that is male pattern hair loss. Get on treatment and good luck fighting the good fight bro.
