Test for DHT

So it's been more than a year I've been on 0.5mg dutasteride and it hasn't done much for my hair. I've been thinking of taking a blood test to check my DHT levels. I'd like to know what I need to get my DHT levels checked at a lab. Do I need a doctor's prescription or can I just go to the lab directly and ask them to do a blood test to check my DHT levels. Also I'd like to know what information I need to provide before the test and receive after a test to make a proper judgement on how the DHT is affecting my hair loss. Thanks.

Obviously, it depends where you're from. In the country of freedom you would need to be referred by your GP for such tests. I've seen that in other countries you can just request them but oyu need to ask for a Hormonal Blood Test.

After a few days/weeks from your test they'll give you the readings as well as normal range so you'll be able to see how much DHT you have in your body and whether it's low, high or normal.

Dude so you are saying that neither dutasteride nor finasteride are working for you at all?
So I was just wondering where are you getting your medications from, are you getting tham from internete or from your local pharmacy?
And if you are buying tham from internet and you didn t done any blood tests to be sure that those medications are real, in my opinione thare is a big chance that you are gettig fake stuff. (just my 2 cents)

Yes that is exactly what I'm saying. I buy Dutas by Dr. Reddy's from my local pharmacy.

I stay in Mumbai, India. Not sure if you can request a lab to do a test or no tbh. All tests I've ever done have been recommended to me by a GP. So if I ask them to do a Hormonal Blood Test will I have all the areas covered?
