Question...?

Has anyone had the testicle pain come back? I had it for a while...and it went away for a few months...but seems to be back again.

somedays im definitely more 'aware' of my balls than others if that makes sense. i do get a bit of an ache there sometimes which wasnt there before finasteride/dutasteride. i think it comes and goes with most people and unless its really causing you discomfort then i wouldnt worry too much.

It could be unrelated but I would say it is the finasteride. You could see a urologist and try run a course of antibiotics for epidimytis if you want but I dont know if that will do anything as I suspect the finasteride. Look out for itchy nipples.

jdr, reduce your dosage to .5mg or .25mg. This will probably help reduce your sides if it is finasteride that is causing it. .5mg is 100% effective as 1mg and .25mg is 90% effective as 1mg.

first of all, 0,5mg isn't equally effective as 1mg, but close. secondly, if serum dht levels is almost identical on the two, what on earth makes you think that there would be a significant difference in terms of side effects? if you get side effects on 1mg, you're pretty much guaranteed to get them on 0,5mg as well.

Yes, you are right it isn't equally effective, but the opinion of the percentage varies somewhat close to 100%(some say 70%, some say 80%, and some say 90% or >). I should've said it's close to 100%.

Key word here is "almost." Maybe that little less dose is all he needs to lower his side effects, that's why I'm suggesting it instead of prescribing it. I also said to try .25mg as well, and if his pain still continues then we can go from there. Until then, offer your own suggestion on why you think/what he should do about his problem.

i think he should reduce dosage, but regardless of side effects really as i think it is financially sound. pretty much the same effect for far less money.

as for his situation, he should wait a few days and see, unless the pains get unbearable. if they do, quit. i've tried finasteride twice. after just 2-3 days of it, i got really bad headaches and had to stop. i gave it a go, but it got too painful.

I may be too late but I would not change dosage. In my experience testicular pain was always accompanied with going on or coming off a 5 alpha reductas inhibitor/antiandrogen (and I am someone who would get massive libido reduction etc while on a steady dose that caused no testicular pain so I do get "regular" sides from finasteride/dutasteride). Though I have never heard a medical description given it seems to be the body increasing/reducing the production of testosterone by the testes. When you change dosage you are going to change the equilibrium again.
However you say this has come back out of the blue....have you missed any doses of finasteride lately? Are you cutting up proscar or taking a regular 1mg of propecia? I would ride it out if I were you but if it gets worse or stays the same then yeah think about cutting back.

happened to me on saw palmetto and it was only in the left one haha
Exact same thing happened to me only the right  Scared me so bad I got checked for testicular cancer. I was on saw and propecia though the pain started with the saw then got more frequent with the propecia.

Anyway I get the pain still , Not a big deal a heaviness one day and ache another anyway my big concern with that isn't the physical pain I mean it's relatively minor but is it doing any real damage?

In short, yes. Testicle pain can be a sign of torsion, infection, or inflammation. If it's minor and rather short, I wouldn't pay much attention to it unless you find a lump, it persists longer than a couple days or becomes more painful. If you're really concerned, go see a doctor. If it's minor, it could just be fluid buildup.

I kind of lost track of this post. Figured I'd give an update... I didn't change the dosage and the pain went away again. I'd say finasteride is definitely not good for me below the belt though. Erections a little weaker... and the whole wattery sperm thing is kind of annoying. But, Im going to keep taking the same dose nonetheless.

we've got no choice for that I should say. never take finasteride, means hairloss...though we might still be losing hair even if we took finasteride

try half of the dosage, it has helped many users.

I will cut back on the dose if it becomes a real bother. Lately I'm feeling fine. One thing to note is that I have taken different pills. Propecia when I want to blow my money...finax for a couple of weeks after running out of Propecia...and this past week I just started taking finpecia that I ordered fron United. So, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I don't see why it would if they're all the same dose of finasteride...

watery semen thing went away after several months for me... I don't know if its gone for good, but so far no problems.

I had testice pain when I first started as well, but it subsidized gradually.

I am still taking a hit in libido, but its the price I am willing to pay.

I would suggest getting off this junk A.S.A.P and not touching it if your thinking of starting propecia/finasteride.

I think it's been 3 years since I've been taking it now, And the very first few days on I had some really bad pain in my testicle area. I searched a few of these sites and saw that others had the same symptoms on and off so I figured it's normal right? not exactly, I noticed after a while that if I didnt take the damn pill on schedule, I would start to get a sore achy dull pain in my right testicle, which would subside after taking a pill. These days the pain is a much more intense at times and I've decided to flush my last few packets down the toilet.

it's not normal, there's not enough solid information available from merck, I'd rather shave my head then screw with my body like this anymore.

you should at least write something new instead of double posting in two different threads.
