Like @Pigeon said, it’s common. I also experienced pain in my shaft and a pulsating anus/prostate(no joke lol)
Time is your best friend now. You’ll be okay but don’t be tempted to use it again. I made that mistake.

Common side effect. How long have you stopped taking fina?
And how long did you use it for?

But ball ache was something I noticed in my first weeks of fina usage, was an idiot back then that trusted other idiots on forums who all said it would go away. Ball ache in those 2 years was a frequent occurance. Best advice I can give anyone, if you have this side effect it's the best sign your body can give that you need to quit fina, don't be a fool who thinks it's nothing and will just go away, your body is trying to tell you something.
This exactly. I took finasteride for a year and tried a couple other times for no more than 3 weeks at a time. Each time I reintroduced finasteride the sides were worse. I read this is quite common. The first year was typical sexual dysfunction. No morning wood, weak erections, loss of libido etc.
The other times I tried finasteride I was hit with mental sides. Anxiety and even panic attacks. I’ll never touch that sh*t again. Sides lasted a very long time after quitting. I spent 1k plus easy on supplements. Maca, dim, zinc, and everything else in stock at iHerb that might help. In the end time is the best healer.

Thank you. There is something I have noticed and that is if I take zinc or magnesium supplement, within a few days my gyno starts hurting, any thoughts?

Zinc and magnesium have a strong effect on our endocrine system in many ways. For example a high dose of zinc is anti andorgenic. I would advise not taking anything and let your body restore itself. Give it a couple of months. But do go to an endo asap.
There was a forum member called Ende/Enden who stated Dr Shippen says high dose of zinc is an aromatase inhibitor? How long does it take the HPTA axis to get back to the state before taking finasteride?

zinc is an aromatase inhibitor?
I’ve seen that posted here a few times, too, but the dose was always crazy high. In my opinion anything above 30mg daily is not a good idea long term. Even at 15-30mg you’d need to supplement with copper because of a decreased ability to absorb and use copper from your regular diet. That’s why, unless deficient, supplements end up doing more harm than good!

Best not to take anything then...? The gyno pain was happening even at RDA levels for both zinc and magnesium.

The ballache happened after I stopped finasteride though...
Most of my sides came after I stopped, too. Supplements aren’t going to help. Just try to relax and get on with your normal routine. Make exercise and healthy diet part of that routine, if they aren’t already. You’ll be okay, but it takes time. Be patient.

You didn't stop, you're still taking topical finasteride. Learn how to read. Keywords were systemic, switch, coincidental
I wrote:

I stopped the tablet mid December a d swapped for topical and then I stopped topical start of Jan 21. Does it normalise?

I've stopped topical and oral. Oral stopped Dec 2020 and Topical stopped Jan 2021

I just switched to minoxidil, the side effects became unbearable so just decided to stop.

@Jeju did you get better after you stopped and gave it time?
Yes, my sexual sides lasted for 4-5 months, though. Unfortunately I got cocky when I recovered and tried finasteride again. Big mistake! More sides, lasted longer the second time around. It’s been over a year since my last attempt and I feel good.

Be careful during your recovery. I know many people will discredit what I’m about to say, but after I experienced finasteride sides, for a while I was very sensitive to even nizoral. I can’t exactly explain why this happened, but it certainly did. I used to leave that stuff on my head for 10 minutes everyday before trying finasteride, hoping to delay hair loss entirely with a shampoo! During the hard times after finasteride both nizoral and minoxidil gave me immediate ED, or rather increased the severity of my finasteride sides.

What are you using now then?
Nothing for hair loss now. Just natural bullchit like peppermint oil and Rosemary oil. I do use nizoral again for seb derm. No problems with it now.
I don’t shed anymore which is interesting. Maybe the oils do help.
