Testosterone Sensitivity & How Our Body Adapts To Replace It?

For a little while i was taking Dutasteride every other day and had no side effects apart from a tingle on my scalp in the thinning areas and feeling the most energized (and good) i have ever felt. i used to like my caffeine in the mornings but i felt no need for it around that time.

So i switched to every one every 2 days and the tingle is mostly gone now and so is the energy boost i had (back on caffeine). so i am gonna assume i might be sensitive to testosterone?

My theory is that Dutasteride was infact doing its job with converting DHT to Testosterone, but maybe if i am sensitive to it then it may not be good or my scalp? in which case i ain't quite sure where to go from here...

i am also experimenting with topical spironolactone and Azailic acid cream and i'm gonna have to give it a couple more days to know for sure, but i am abit concerned that my body is producing more Testosterone whenever i try and get around DHT

My skin was fairly dry and my hair wasn't greasy either so i don't know

I'm confused what you mean or want to say. Dutasteride stops testo from being DHT and look for the effect on your hair not energy.

The less Testosterone converted to DHT means more Testosterone in your system presumably.

Hey man I'm interested in individuals that don't get side effects. Would you mind sharing your age and also were you on finasteride before duta?

I turned 33 fairly recently. and yeah i was on finasteride for just over 5 months, first month was daily and the random scalp itch scared me into taking it every other day where the itch disappeared.

My memory on taking finasteride was that i had no result or none of the common side effects and that made me question whether it was even working at all. so i jumped on to Duta because i was told its stronger and that perhaps i needed something stronger... again beyond an energy boost and scalp tingle there isn't anything else. maybe i put on abit of muscle since also.

All the listed side effects that you hear about with finasteride or dutasteride i never got. currently in a state of confusion.

Ya interesting. For most individuals it's well tolerated. But for others the hormonal imbalance might be too much. Did you have any prostate or urinary issues before starting?

Well I was taking saw palmetto, nettle and beta for a few months before switching to finasteride. So who knows what that was doing to my prostate, but I was peeing a lot at that time, which is a symptom of what nettle does to you and your prostate so that was all likely a supplement based effect.

Overall no prostate or urinary issues.

When you inhibit 5ar, your body stops converting test to DHT. You will likely suffer a slight increase (10-30%) dependant on person, in both test and estrogen.

How long have you tried taking dutasteride / finasteride ?

1 Month on Finasteride daily, around 5 months on finasteride every other day, so basically around 6 months all together. every day = scalp itch, every other day = No scalp itch, overall no result i could notice.

So far i have only been on Dutasteride just under 2 months. but what i have noticed is that when i take it daily or every other day i get a scalp itch/tingle in the receding areas and so recently i have moved to taking one every 2nd day and even more recently every 3rd day, and the itch appears to be slowly disappearing as i lessen the days i take it.

Your problem isn’t test sensitivity, it’s that you can’t stay on a regimen

Well see i had an issue here. when i took Finasteride it scared the crap out of me because my hairline started itching and it was receding quicker than usual, and i haven't ever really suffered the male pattern baldness itch until i started Finasteride. and instantly that seemed like a big warning sign to me.

So then yeah i dropped to one every other day, the itch went away and my hairline went back to receding about average again and i was on the same routine at least 5 to 6 months, no side effects. no results. but at the back of my mind i always remembered the scalp itch i gained from using it once a day and wondered whether i was one of the unlucky ones that this didn't work for.

So yeah i switched to Dutasteride... now if i stay on this drug ok, and i continue to have a scalp itch/tingle and quicker receding hairline... you tell me what the hell that is? is that the normal signs of a shed? you give me something to let me know that this side effect is normal? because the more i read the less it seems normal to me.

I was warned the day i purchased Duasteride that i should let my doctor know i was taking it due to certain emotional side effects that could occur. the one that occurred turned out to make me feel quite energetic and good actually. while i went around scratching my hairline obviously.

I will say this though. I think taking dutasteride every other day was making my hair either abit thicker or darker. My hair definately is getting abit lighter as I spread out the days. But I think same thing happened when I took large doses of saw palmetto too. Although with large doses of saw palmetto I did get spots and greasy hair too.

Unfortunately I think I may be fucked when it comes to stopping the hair loss :'(. Every day I am trying to think of a new routine that I could help me get results but I think my body just hates me.
