The Art of Diversion

My treatment on the big three has only halted my hairloss but it hasn’t re-grown any hair just yet (may take another 3-6 months). All I have done to change the appearance of my hairline is shave the sides of my hair to a number 2 so as to accentuate the hair that is on top. I have also grown a beard so that attention is on my face and not on my head.
I think beards are great in that sense but you have to like having it – in fact they can be quite polarising with women’s reactions: some love it and some hate it.
Anyway, let me know what you think.

Looks pretty bad-*** dude. I might be going for something similar since I'm about to jump on finasteride and I bet there will be some massive shedding (leading to eventual regrowth hopefully).

You can tell in the old picture I am a Norwood 2.5 (ish). I would love to regain some of my lost hair so I can have better hairstyles etc.

Very true. That is why so many bald men or men who shave their heads wear facial hair. Its a diversion so people will take the focus off the head and divert it to the face. The way you style your hair is another diversion tactic too. I can make my hair look like a NW1 with a few styling tricks and with the right haircut. In Hollywood, its all about illusion.

I can't grow a full beard so I often use juggling or magic tricks to divert attention from my baldness.

I used to put minoxidil on my beard twice a day for six months - it doubled the number of hair on my face. When I stopped using it the hair stayed.

Exactly what I do.
Sides shaved to a number 2, long on top.
I used some Toppik for the temples and I'm good to go.
Looks good though man

How much success have you had with Toppik?

Nice, I'm trying this too! How long did it take for the hairs to start popping up? I've been doing it since late September with literally no results.

I personally never had a good beard and will never have one (because I'm shedding it with IPL!) and my father also has a horrible beard, so looking at him I've decided to be beard-free for the rest of my days. Also due to various skin problems arising from shaving.

But yes, beard does look better on men with high hairlines compared to low ones.
