When you first started using concealers, did you get this feeling, after taking them off, that your baldness has definately got worse?

Cause i am f*****g sure that my hair is thinner than it was some weeks ago, but i try to convince my self that this is the effect of getting used to see them with toppik.

Stupid mind games :p

yeah. i actually signed on to make a thread about this.

I don't know if it's just a mind game or if it's actually making my hair thinner. I can't even imagine how I stepped out of the house before dermmatch. Now, when I get out of the shower, dry my hair, i look at my scalp and i am balder than a watermelon. With dermatch on, it looks great.

I really hope to god though that this stuff isn't actually making my real hair worse that it was before. Not wearing it is not really an option though.

I have to admit, this is precisely why I have held out from buying dermmatch. If in a couple of years I am happy with my regrowth and feel it is stable then I will try it to get a really thick look to my hair, but until then I am too scared to.

Dermmatch doesn't do anything bad to your hair or scalp. Quite the opposite, it's good for your scalp.

Safe and healthful... Doctors trust DermMatch because it's topical, resting on the skin's surface where it allows your hair to grow naturally. The formula is emollient based and loaded with soothing moisturizers. You'll look forward to using it every day...

Yeah, just keep hiding your balding with Toppik, that's the way to go for sure. I have only 4 fingers in my right hand so I stick a thin sausage up my sleeve just to create an illusion of having 5 fingers :punk: . I'm also very embarrassed 'cause I'm only 5'7" so I wear shoes with really high soles. Makes me feel like a king :) .

Why so hostile? If concealers work for 1000's of people and give them the illusion of thicker hair and extra confidence without the need to have a hair transplant then whats the problem? :dunno: Its no different to someone dyeing their grey hair to alter their appearance.

Well if someone feels like dying rather than show that he's balding, I guess he has to have deeper problems. "I wouldn't go out without toppik". That kinda stuff... besides, I was trying to be humorous but I guess it didn't work out :) . I have been open about my balding from day 1, and if anyone has ever said about someone else like "that dude's balding", I'll just go "yeah, so am I". I don't give a f*** what people think, what I think matters more. When I buzzed my hair for the 1st time a year ago, I always gave the "I'm balding and don't wanna look like a clown" etc. answer if someone said something about it. It's much easier in the long run. It's the genes, what can you do man?

Yeah but think about the psychological effect if someone catches you (the rain or something)? If you're such a coward that you can't admit you're balding, that wouldn't be a nice way for others to find out. Just my 2 cents.

toppik withstands rain. i used to wear it and even during a heavy rain most of it stayed in my hair. you can't swim in it though. other concealers that paint the scalp the color of your hair are easier to spot if they come off because then people ask you while your scalp is black. if you're wearing toppik though, and it's in there, the only way for someone to find out would be to run their fingers vigorously through your hair and separate the hairs while looking closely. even then, i'm not convinced it'd be spotted.
