The social impact of balding is one of the worst things ever

Aside from having your looks stripped from you day by day, the social impacts are horrible. From not wanting to go out and interact with others to becoming socially anxious and isolated due to the fact that you can't stop thinking about your hair and looking at everyone's hairlines and not wanting to ever be seen on camera. I am not considered bald by anyone due to the way I cover up, but I have seen how others treat bald men. I have seen smug looking men run their hands through their hair to mock a bald man. Women cringe when they see a bald man take off their hat etc.

In a way, I am lucky that hair loss is my only real problem. I have masculine and aesthetic facial features, but the way hairloss affects your looks is brutal. Then having it affect your ability to socialize and your social abilities makes things even worse. It has changed the course of my life as a young man. Sometimes I think about how I would rather have dealt with being overweight, having acne, being shorter than to ever have to deal with hair loss or at least have to deal with it in my 40s when it probably wouldn't be as aggressive.

ye it's terrible... one of the most horrible things about hairloss is the fact that it's progressive. If you have other flows, they already there and you get used to them, but hairloss just start at some cursed moment, and from that point you know there is only one direction. every few months that pass your looks keep getting worse and worse.
On the other hand, of course I wouldnt want to go bald like in one day or something, Im glad that at least for me the rate of hairloss is kinda slow. But the gradual process slowly killing you...

Exactly. And it progresses to a point where your looks are pretty much ruined, like why??

bro i am 19 and i am nw4 it fucked my life i suffer from anxiety insomnia and depression just because of its.

Loneliness is slowly killing me and the hardest part is that there is nothing that can solve it, I see my appearance declining more and more every day and there is nothing I can do about it.

This evening again, Friday and I am alone in my room as usual while the young people of my age enjoy and have fun, I would never have access to all of her, to friends, to girlfriends.

f*** the life

the only thing i am really concerned with is that i want to change jobs soon...
most likely my hair will still be like it is no, but if it gets even worse, then i dont know...
cant do that now anyway, because i still got visa restrictions, so it might take another year (most likely 8 month though)...

otherwise i dont think i ever saw anyone who really got bullied or anything...
where i am living, people do make fun of balding, but it isnt really serious...
the “just shave it” advise is also strong here and while i dont think so at all, i witnessed it at least three times that someone got his head shaved right there at the bar and just went on with his life...

thing is, as bad as it is (i dont like it myself, otherwise i wouldnt be here), but these days there are choices...
of course you got to adapt, too... its not like everyone hates bald people...

you think i'm exaggerating?
You are exaggerating. You do not notice hair changes overnight, therefore your looks can’t fade “everyday”. I was there at 19 too. It doesn't get better, you just get used to it. Be more optimistic even though it seems like everything is falling apart. It’s going to destroy you as much as you let it.

just shave it might be unironically a good idea who people who got mentally super stressed over hairloss, like op said

it wont look necessaraly better (even though it often does when people are heavily balding and run a ridicilous obvious cover up game), often worse, but eventually people (who will suffer from balding) will adapt to the new looks and get used to how people treat them (some faster some later).

its like removing a band aid, its better done quick then slowly

but personally i think people should try finasteride, hairtransplants first...but really: people who mentally cant take it are also the ones who are most likely report side effects with finasteride or give up half way with haitransplants

yeah in that case, they either had thin combover, or like 2cm hair, but only like 10 of them left...
that was clearly better after smooth shave...
i mean i dont want that either, but if there really isnt anything to rescue anymore, then that is most likely what had to be done...
again, i most likely will never give that advise...

still better than baseball cap and wool hats...
