Hello guys,
I'm on minoxidil(kirkland/Rogaine foam) for the past 4+ months and recently I been noticed that the hair on my knuckles & other parts of my hands turned darker & thicker(both hands same places = very equal). I very convinced that the cause is the systematically absorption of minoxidil, because I washed my hands very carefully after each use & also as I said earlier both hands have equal hairiness. I also started using gloves for the last 1.5-2 months(before I noticed the hair growth on my hands), but it didn't seems to help with that either. As for the rest of my body the only thing I noticed is that the hairs are darker, I think . I tried to look for other users that experienced the same thing as I do & I found some, but nobody confirmed that once you stop minoxidil the hairs return to normal state(before the use of minoxidil).

-Does anybody here experienced the same condition & returned to normal state after stopping minoxidil?

I really hope this condition will go away after I stop with the minoxidil, because that what I'm planning to do next month(gradually of course) & instead that I'll return to propecia - maybe it will reduce & stop the body hair growth as well.

Thanks in advance for the help & support, guys!
I hope to hear from you soon. :salut:

Hairy knuckles

Yes I have also gotten hairy knuckles, fuller beard. They both diminished after quitting minoxidil..along with the hair on my head it helped to regrow.

@Kidbako, thank you man! :notworthy
I'm so happy to hear that. wow what a relief..
btw, by saying: 'diminished' you mean that your knuckles hair returned to same state as they were before using minoxidil?

Thanks again man!

Hairy knuckles

Yes the unusual hair growth on my knuckles returned to normal. I also lost the hair on the lower part of both my legs just above the ankles which took like a year to regrow, not sure if it was the minoxidil or not but I wasn't on anything else that may have caused it. I had great results as far as hair growth. I went through a bad shed after about a year, hair looked terrible so I quit minoxidil, shaved my head and got smp. The illusion of a full head of shaved hair I thought just might be the end all but it just doesn't cut it for me. So now I'm back on minoxidil for a month now, have my prescription for finasteride, which I've never tried before, and my nizoral shampoo...

Thanks for your detailed info man!! :) very appreciated.
I hope things will get better for you mate. in my case i'm on minoxidil just because I'm suspecting that finasteride caused me some health issue, but minoxidil have also some disturbing sides(hairiness etc.) which I cannot stand unfortunately and I'm kind of lazy to put this stuff on my head every day, every damn day..lol, so in about a month i'll be in the process of quitting minoxidil and returning to finasteride(I wish there was a natural way that gives the same results as those FDA products..). I've just one more question for you please: how long did it take for your unwanted hair to get back to normal after quitting minoxidil?

Thanks a lot man for answering my questions! it helped me a lot and I feel much better now :) :bravo:
Have a nice day.

Hairy knuckles

No I keep my arm hair trimmed as well, so needing to trim on the back of my hands wasn't a concern for me.

First of all, thanks @Kidbako :)

Hey Wolfman,
I'm a man but for me it's depressing to see my body goes hairier(although i'm not a hairy guy...)
As for hair removal products I'm afraid to use them, because they might cause a further growth of hair.
Also the hair issue will go away after I stop using minoxidil as 'Kidbako' confirmed. so no need for for hair removal products (I hope!)
I hope you understand..

Have a nice day. :)

If extra hair growing is making you depressed then you really shouldn't be using minoxidil. It's a ridiculous reason to get depressed, worse things could happen.. Like going BALD. At least then you could transplant your lovely minoxidil induced body hair onto your shiny smooth head for some decent coverage :)
