thanks to therapy ive been feeling better lately. Finally letting go of the past when i had a gf/hair and looks. It's pretty sad how i spend so much time thinking of what happened years ago but now each day im just living in the present and letting go of things.

Sometimes i get a wave of nostalgia and sadness...And yea it does suck that as a male, i'll never get to experience a relationship, love, sex, dating, travelling together due to my genetics.

But all i can do is just think logically and without emotion like a man,.. just be in the present.

Hopefully this lasts. Usually i fall back into a spiral but hoping this time it lasts . we'll see.

The more I read about therapy the more that I think that it is not appropriate for me. I have been recommended a book about a guy who was worried about his hair loss for 15 years but was told by every dermatologist that he had no sign of hair loss. He got to age 30 with no hair loss and without using any treatments. It just seems so far away from my situation.

I am glad that things are looking up for you. Therapy seems to take a long long time.

Man, what can therapy to do help my NW6 ?
What can therapy do to help being invisible to women?
What can therapy do to not make me wanna punch the mirror every time I look into it ?
Nothing, that's what the punching bag is for.

Therapy is really helpful but medication is also necessary and helps me just as much.
Helped me a lot, but recently I've been experiencing sexual side effects while having a girlfriend.. not that great

So I'm trying to the perfect balance here

it's awful. I was on mirtazipine/remeron for a while and everything was going fine at first

suddenly I didn't only become asexual, but also lost my sensitivity down there. so evidently cialis didn't do sh*t ( since there has to be arousal first for it to work ). but even before that, many times when I had sex I couldn't feel anything, even if I was in the mood, just pounding away in a black hole pretty much

SSRI's are no joke

Yeah I'm trying to quit Lexapro, but meanwhile the sides only got worse

It got way better for a little while, but I guess I tapered off too fast

Don't SSRI's basically "numb" your emotions? So when you look in the mirror and see what you don't like about yourself how does it differ when you do the same thing without the drug. I know a friend told me you don't dwell on things but all I have to do is look in the mirror and I see what bothers me. Aren't the drugs basically allowing you to be brainwashed more easily?

The emotional blunting only started when I also lost my sex drive. Weird.

How did you come to that conclusion?
Honestly it was just a stab in the dark. You are put on the drugs under a psychiatrist's supervision and treatment. In your, sessions the medication will allow you to be manipulated to believe your psychiatrist when he is saying looks don't matter.

Eh, no psychologist or psychiatrist or whatever has ever convinced me looks don't matter

I think that when SSRIs work well, they don't numb emotions, but rather elevate mood and make a person feel better.

yeah ideally they are selective in what they suppress. numbing the pain without killing the joy

they do work beautifully for some people

So you think looks matter to the same extent they always mattered even before any treatment?

Which one works best with a sensitive stomach?

I took remeron and it never gave me reflux or nausea, on the contrary it made me incredibly hungry and I gained 10kg in a few months ( granted I started off underweight)

but it also made me drowsy when I took it

not in a bad way, it's pleasantly sedating
