Things To Know Before My First Consultation?

I'm going for my first consultation for a FUE transplant next month. What kind of questions should I be asking and what kind of answers should I look for? I've read so much about shock loss and other possible side effects that I can't believe how anyone has a successful transplant.

What's the worst thing that could possibly happen if my transplant doesn't work out? I'm still pretty young by bald people standards (23), so I already know I'll need multiple procedures done. If this first procedure can take me into my late 20's-30's, I'd be thrilled. I'm currently not taking anything, but I feel like I'm too far gone to be saved. I feel like it's transplant or bust for me.

Also has anyone heard of PRP treatments being used along with an FUE transplant?

1. Who is doing the FUE work? Doctor or technicians. If technicians, is is legal?
2. How many patients can you meet in person?
3. What happens if the growth isn't very good?

These are just some of the questions I've learned to ask and I think you should go in with a skeptical eye. Their job is to sell you a surgery. Your job is to read between the lines.

Thanks for the response, and I will definitely ask those questions.

Now that I'm hearing suggestions from people on here, I'm skeptical on the number of grafts they suggest. I'm being told I need 3000-5000 even though when I sent my pictures in, I was told I'd need 1500...

What's your level of hairloss? You're not on medication but getting a transplant at 23 years of age? Be careful with that dude. Unless you're pretty damn sure your loss is slowly progressing that could be a reckless move

I'm already pretty far gone for people my age. I posted my pictures in another thread and had people suggesting 3000-5000 grafts.

They told me it was an estimate, but I also thought it was odd. I still want to go to see this doctor for my consultation so I can ask questions though. The doctor has a lot of good reviews and his practice looks very nice. That probably doesn't mean much, but I am still interested in what he has to say.

Ah well then you may be a good candidate after all. Who's the surgeon you're looking into?

Hair transplant is a science as well as art. Best hair transplant have some criteria like it should look natural, direction and angle of hair are important then density should be properly planned. So that you get the look of a head full of hairs. Here is the list of some questions ask or check before undergoing a hair transplant.
1) Check qualifications and experience of hair transplant surgeon.
2) Check Clinic results in hair transplant surgery.
3) Ensure OT infrastructure well equipped or not.
4) I am a good candidate for hair transplant or not.
4) How many days required for surgery.
5) Recovery after a hair transplant.
6) What are the medications prescribed after a hair transplant?
7) What care should be taken after a hair transplant?
8) How many days required for full growth of hair?
