Since I am out of work I am cutting back on things, hate to take a chance on quiting the nightime treatment of 15% min. because I am getting results and hate to lose any ground but times are tough and might go with the foam 2x a day along with finasteride. and 2% nizoral.
What do you think is it a big risk or nothing to worry about?

How long had you been on the 15%?

I don't think it will be such a big problem going to the foam and it has shown to be slightly more absorbed into the scalp then the liquid version so the drop off might be as much as you would think. Also, it was my understanding the 15% minoxidil had issues being absorbed fully into the scalp, although this was highly debated on the forum.

All in all, I think you'll be fine.

thanks alot makes me feel better making the decision. My wife and I are both laid off right now and it would be a hard purchase to justify.

poochy dont stop 15%.
you will lose any gains.
(I stopped it for 7 months only to lose significant amount of hairs while on foam twice a day)

try to use 15% 3 times a week and foam for the other times. Sorry to hear your situation.

No offence to shedmaster, but saying foam is better or as good as xandrox 15 or minoxidil 15% without ever being on it is wrong.

tech, are you suggesting that 15% minoxidil regrows more hair than rogaine foam?

How about going from 15% min. to 12% min. and saving a few bucks would it make a difference or am I being foolish and pay the extra money and stick with my plan? I have not had fantastic gains but much improvement and would hate to lose it. I think I already know the answer but need to here from experienced posters. By the way would anyone suggest on improving my system of the big 3 and one day adding something else to kick start my hair regrowth because I been on the same stuff for 15 months?

poochy, conventional wisdom says that you'll lose any gains that you wouldn't have gotten from 12%. what i'm saying is that if 15% recruited any more follicles than you would have from 12%, say, 100 follicles recruited on 15% and only 90 would have been on 12, then you'd lose 10 by going to 12% from 15%. i simplified the math but you get what i'm saying. drop minoxidil entirely and you lose all 100.

shedmaster, my bad. I wasn't paying attention to what you said. Apologies.
We see posters here very commonly saying product X is not good, without ever trying it.

Jayman,
yes xandrox 15 recruited more hairs in the front for me than the foam.
