Ever since November I’ve been worrying about my hairline receding. I just started to feel better about myself and losing my hair would be a huge blow to my confidence, especially at 18 man. But, I can’t live with this anxiety anymore. Having to check my hairline to see if it’s gone back any farther is annoying. The temples seemed to have thinned out a little since November (when I started noticing was up, but I’ve been convinced it was just maturing or whatever and now I’m getting concerned). Anyway, here’s some pics of my hairline and the last two of these pics have this random thin patch that happens to be there on the left side of my hairline (right side hasn’t moved at all, knock on wood). One pic has harsh light, the other does not. Please let me know what you think!

Notes:

I have fine hair

I recently had a blood test and everything seemed to be fine

I take biotin everyday (idk if that matters, but wanted to put that here just in case)

Every time I do a pull test, I always get 1 or 2 hairs (as of this month, it’s only been one).

I see like 25-30 shed hairs every other day.

I don’t usually see many hairs on my pillow, the most I’ve gotten was like 10 (the last I got that many hairs was in January) but has dropped significantly to like 2 or 3 (because I started using conditioner)

I’ve got a naturally high hairline

I’m terrified af lmao

Not much hair loss yet mate, to say none that can i really see.
The biggest tip i can give you is, check ur hair once every month in the mirror and make photos under bright lighting. If u see change in ur hair, go to a dermatologist. But I don't see much reason to panic yet.
Shedding 30 hairs is very normal btw.

Thanks man. I’ll just check every month instead of every other day like I’ve been doing LMAO. Anyway, at what point should I start being concerned and going to a derm? Thanks :)

but I will give my opinion on your hair because you have the
same hair as me when I was 18.

You have a juvenile hairline, very thick hair all around

youre probably losing your norwood 0 temples, which I think is good if you dont lose any more hair
and you go to a norwood 1 or norwood 1.5 which looks good on a adult.

if you dont lose any more hair after that that will be good for you.

but for me I started diffusing and thinning in my 20s,
so having thick hair and a norwood 0 in your teens doesnt mean you will not go bald in the future

fair point. I’m aware of the diffuse thinning phenomenon and it’s scary man. Sorry you had to go through that fam. I hope you’re doing ok though. Thanks for your help man. It’s much appreciated. :)

(sorry if i come off like those Norwood 0 15 year olds I see while lurking on here, it’s not my intention)

Finasteride and Minoxidil will help you if you ever start thinning, those Meds have helped me with my hair but for now youre good.

Awesome. Thank you, friend. I’ve seen threads where people shed like crazy on finasteride after a while. I know min has a shed too, but that just means it’s working. Thank you again, now that I know where I’m at, I know what to do and how to plan for the future. This really helped me man.
