Thinning hair can actually look good grown out...BUT

This is all just my opinion but i really believe that thinning / male pattern baldness hair can actually look good even when grown out, BUT...only on men who are "older", say 35 and up. I think on younger men it can really take away from their youth and for that age group with thinning hair i would go with a buzz cut #0 up to a #3 guard.

Older men are more rugged and aged obviously and i feel like thinning hair is more accepted by others as men get older because it is just a sign of maturing and getting older and i feel like embracing the thinning hair gives off a confidence of "yeah I'm thinning , so f*****g what" . Most of us men would prefer a full head of hair but at the same time we are not beautiful in the way women are, we are rugged , masculine and not meant to be perfect.

I think with Instagram and social media we feel more pressured into looking like all these pretty boys with long hair, big c**** and muscles which is fucked up but i feel we should embrace our masculinity and if that means thinning hair then so be it . I know some people will disagree with me but I'm just trying to bring some positivity to us balding men out there .

What I think most posters here would contend however, and I agree, is that in just about every case you can imagine a full of head hair looks better. And for the majority of men, who are not going to be as ruggedly handsome, it's going to look way better.

An example I just thought of: Karl Pilkington. He's not a very good looking guy in the first place but he still looks a million times better with hair.

I think the majority of us here agree that a full head of hair looks better (especially at a younger age) than bald but in the case of men from about 35 years upwards , i believe the balding , bald and thinning look can work much better than when you are younger due to the reasons I listed above. The bald and bearded look also looks much better and more "acceptable" as we age so i feel that should give us some confidence as we age , as for Karl pilkington i agree with you that he is not the most handsome fella but imagine him hitting the gym , losing a ton of fat, building some lean muscle and getting to around 12 to 13% body fat !? His jaw would pop out much more and he would pull off a very short buzz cut or even a bald and short bearded look very well and transform himself . Losing fat and building some muscle will drastically improve the appearance of all balding men and then when you pair that with some stubble or a beard you will be cruising !!

Maybe when you have severe thinning or are horseshoe bald you can look a bit younger shaved (not as much as people say imo, many are aged just as much with shaved or grown out horseshoe) and I guess it looks more proportional and even with it shaved or buzzed instead of having two disconnected chunks of hair on each side of your head, but I think shaving it when you are a Norwood 2 or 3 (sometimes even 4), typically ages you even more.

It always looks better when you leave a bit of stubble on the back and sides, people who razor shave their head look like they have just had chemo.
