Well I'm glad I found this forum, just hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
Here's my story.
I've always had a kinda weird hairline, ever since I was a baby. I never really noticed it because all through my childhood and adolecence I had medium length hair that covered my thin hairline and "parking lots"

I started getting worried about 4 years ago and really started paying attention to my hairline. Though it didn't change much at all it still bothered me. At 24 I tried using rogaine for about 8 months and found the hair got a little thicker in the area, but not enough to warrant paying the cost.
Now at the age of 25 I've found that in the last month or so my hair is now thinning much quicker in the front.

I hope the hell I can out a stop to this once and for all with the right balance of vitimins, medication and diet.
My problem is however that I've searched and searched and have come up with so much information that I don't know which to beleive.

Here's what I've been doing thus far.
I've been using "Thicker Fuller hair" shampoo and conditioner on a daily basis for about 2 months.

I apply egg yolk to the thinning area about 3 times a week and message it in.

I was taking vitimin B complex for about a month but decided to stop until I receive more info about how to take it and its benefits.

For about a week I was messaging Jamieson Aloe Vera Gel into my scalp before going to bed but again stoppped until I can verify it's effects.

I've been washing my hair with cool water, and messaging my scalp with my finger tips daily.

Just today I switched over to taking vitimin B6 but am unsure whether or not to continue?

I have a doctors appointment on the 21 of December so I can be referred to a specialist to rule out any health factors that may be causing it.

Can I be doing more? Has anybody ever seen successful results from a routine such as mine? Also what aids should I consider?

Also as a reference I added a link to a post I read on here showing a hairline similiar to my own, though my hairline goes up higher on the sides.(I will remove this link if the author wishes)

id start with at least propecia/proscar(finasteride). I'm sure you've read about it on here. Go to a dermatologist and have him examine you ask for a prescription for finasteride. ask your Doctor to write you a prescription for proscar instead of propecia. proscar is the 5 mg form of finasteride prescribed for an enlarged prostate. propecia is the 1 mg form prescribed for androgenetic alopecia(what you presumably have). So you can get him to write you a prescription for proscar, and cut the tablets into fourths or fifths with a pill cutter, and take one piece a day. This way you can spend $220 a year on your medication instead of the $700 a year that Propecia probably runs you. Lots of people do this because they like saving money.

also use nizoral shampoo(can be found at supermarkets/pharmacies) twice a week in place of your normal shampoo. leave it in for 5 minutes then rinse out. use a good conditioner afterward(dove, head and shoulders, etc).

those are two items of the so called Big 3 regimen. The other item is the rogaine(minoxidil) that you've used sporadically. you could start it again or wait and see what finasteride can do for you, because finasteride can regrow hairs on its own. I recommend waiting.

As for the other stuff you mentioned, like egg yolks and that shampoo and the aloe vera gel, they won't do anything to help with your hair loss. vitamin b6 may help so i'd continue using that.

wow man thanks for the quick response and the all the info! Although I'm a little confused  I read your post 4-5 times and still can't understand it completely.
I'm pretty new to this, so please understand, and please help me.
So I should make ask the dermo to prescirbe me finasteride for my problem just to prove to my doctor that I need it?
Then instead of getting propecia I ask my doctor for a prescription for proscar because it is essentially the same thing just a higher dose (hence the cutting of the pills)
Is that the shortened version of it?
Again thanks for your help.
I actually have goosebumps right now after browsing the site and seeing how far people have come with their hairloss. And I must admit that it has renewed a bit of my faith in humanity seeing that people like yourself take the time to answer the questions of noobs like me and share their stories with all of us :!:

no a dermatologist is the doctor that you go to for hair loss. i would go to the derm and ask him to check your hair out. most likely he will agree with you that you are balding and recommend finasteride. if he does not mention it, and only mentions rogaine(which is available over the counter anyway!), then just ask him for it. most doctors will give you a prescription for a safe drug like finasteride if you ask. and yes you want to ask for a proscar prescription because it is cheaper. ask him to write "take one quarter pill daily for hair loss" or something like that, so the insurance company will know its not to be covered since it is cosmetic. proscar is cheap anyway. most doctors will be reluctant to prescribe proscar for hair loss unless you ask them to write that on the script. the reason for that is that if they don't write it and you get your insurance company to pay for it then you're probably committing insurance fraud because most insurance companies do not cover cosmetic drugs like propecia/proscar.

and don't forget to use the nizoral twice a week. it will probably help some as well. and keep using vitamin b6 if you want to. it certainly won't do any harm.

thanks for clarifying!
Any idea what the monthly cost for all 3 products is?
And I'm just curious what exactly is the nizoral for? I thought it was for dandruff?

with generic proscar from a us pharmacy will be about $20 a month. generic minoxidil can be found at wal-mart for $8 a month. Nizoral is about $4 a month. So $35 a month max.

Sorry to be such a bother but do you have any ideas what the generic brand names are?
This is what I found
Proscar-Fncar http://www.inhousepharmacy.com/generics/fincar.html
minoxidil-Minocycline http://chealth.canoe.ca/drug_info_detai ... =524&rot=4
Is this correct
Sorry for being such a pain but I want to be sure I know exactly what to get when I go see a dermo.

I think Fincar is the most widely used generic here, and has one of the better reputations. Its 5mg, which can be cut into quarters, so the 30 5mg pills came be taken over a course of 120 days.
minoxidil = Minoxidil = Active Ingredient in Rogaine. It can be purchased in the USA without a prescription, get the 5%.

I'm just being an ***.
Don't worry about it!

The more I read into the post the more it confuses me......lol
Ok I am having trouble differentiating between the different products.

Here's what I understand:
I need to get Proscar which is another name for finasteride and is the what I need for my particular problem.
Would that be the onle thing I need a prescription for? I just want to be educated enough when I go to the dermo.
So here's what I think I'm supposed to say
"I'd like a prescription for finasteride, preferably proscar"

Yes, you got it. Finasteride is the active ingredient of both Proscar and Propecia. Proscar is just the cheaper way to get it.

It is the best way to fight the early stages of hair loss.
If you are also interested in fighting hair loss naturally you might take a look at ImmortalHair´s website and his supplements only regimen. It might serve as addition to your finasteride treatment.

Man I can't thank-you all enough!
Again I am so glad I stumbled upon this forum, I'm so excited to start treating this and finally put it behind me!
I look forward to being a contributing member as well!

I stopped by the supermarket today to see if they carried Nizoral. It says it's for dandruff, what are the positive effects it has towards baldness?
Also I found some info on Revivogen and am wondering if this would be a good choice for a daily shampoo and conditioner?

Little minnie update here,
Finally got in to see my doctor. Must say I lost a few hairs in the waiting room with all the whinning screaming kids.
Anyway it's funny exactly how useless my doctor is and how little she appears to know about anything! It's a really good gaddamned thing I found this site so I at least had a little knowledge.
Anyway she's sending me for blood tests to rule out any chance of health problems. Said my regiment looks good. She was a little iffy about prescribig me proscar because it is such a high does, but she said she'd look into it and let me know.
Other than all she booked me an appointment at the dermo, and recommended nioxin as a shampoo.
For now I'm just gonna go ahead with the B6, biotin, and msn combined with a nizoral and a good thickening shampoo for a bit then add the minoxidil after xmas. Then eventually proscar.
