This is how you can be free from your problems

Listen well. For I will only try to set you free once. Just once.

The only reason you live like that is because you have depression. It is not your hair, your height, your penis, your muscles or your status. You have grown to hate yourself and become victim of cheap advertisements and stereotypes. At the same time, you have grown accustomed to judge from the safety of your room and waste your days for nothing. You’re miserable and your excuse here is your hair loss. Fear not. This is all reversible and I’m gonna tell you how.

This is all because of depression which is nothing more than YOUR own decision to shoot your self in the foot by creating false realities and negative thoughts, generating an insane amount of excuses.

You use false ways of judgement, such as generalization, all or nothing, etc. You need to learn to manipulate your brain and you’ll be free from depression.

Examples:
Someone makes a negative comment on your hair while you are out having coffee. Your reaction will be that everyone thinks you look ugly. Your second thought will be that the girl you are with has just rejected you.

Correction:
A single person’s opinion does not mean every single person on that bar or shop has come to the same conclusion because you have no proof such thing has happened. Being bald does not mean you are ugly because you have had compliments by family members or even strangers on your looks, compliments that you shut down and did not accept. Being bald does not mean that you have no other good looks. The girl has met you bald and is now with you for coffee so she cannot possibly reject you for that, she has seen you bald, she is with you.

See what I just did? I used logic to defeat the automatic negative thoughts generated by your own brain. Another person can never harm you with what they say, even if they are correct. For example: a co-worker blames you for being late at work. You were late at work. He calls you useless, perhaps incompetent. Now, you may become stressed and think that you will be fired or that your co-workers think you are a jerk. Let’s break it down: while the fact you being late is true, the rest is not. You are not incompetent because you have had days and days of being efficient at work, you have done your job properly. You will not be fired for a single incident. Your co-workers do not think you are a jerk because they have not behaved at you in such manner and you possible have co-workers as friends with whom you speak to on a daily basis. Thus, the right course of action is to understand you were late and say “I will try to be on time”.

See that? I just remained calm and assessed the situation properly. I did not create a number or imaginary situations that would make my brain go nuts.

This is exactly the same with hair loss. Is baldness something that you rather not have than have? Yes. Does it create frustration to you for damaging your looks and your perception of acceptance? Yes. Do these have any basis at all? Yes, for you. Are they real? No. Why? Because the frustration is purely a sentiment generated by YOU and YOUR thoughts. If I call you “hey baldyyyy” fifty times, it means nothing. You can choose to filter the information accordingly or let it make you depressive.

The same applies for the over-generalization mistake you usually make: one girl commented bad on my hair, I will never find a girl, I will be alone for ever.

What are the mistakes here? Over-generalization (all girls don’t want me), all or nothing (I need hair or I’m done), falsely guessing the future (I will never find a girl, I will be alone for ever). I won’t explain it further, you get the point.

Now, this is how you save yourself. You can keep a calendar, write down your negative thoughts and then on the side, write the rationalization I gave an example of. Another thing is your belief that you don’t do enough in your day. You feel useless. Again, not true. You can buy a small item that registers clicks and every time you complete a chore or an activity, click it. Monitor how many clicks you have per day.

See? Another simple way.

All this is but a glimpse of what you can do. I want to tell you that without the use of drugs and without hair, you can transform your life and banish depression for ever, finding freedom. It is not a secret that most of you have issues beyond hair loss, such as your height, face, etc. Use these principles, remember what I told you. It takes time but it works.

Some of you would be eager to swallow poison or pay 100k to some Japanese dude promising things. It’s worth investing few minutes every day to do what I described here.

Good luck.

Study 3b provides barely significant evidence for the common "embrace your baldness" advice: Men with thinning hair can possibly slightly improve their looks by shaving their hair entirely.
So much for "bald is always better than balding" lol

Bald men and men with thinning hair are perceived as less attractive

Mannes (2012) conducted three studies examining how balding influence person perception, simulating balding by shaving in the experimental group. In all studies men were rated as more dominant, but not as more attractive. In study 2 and 3, bald men were rated as significantly less attractive. Study 3b provides barely significant evidence for the common "embrace your baldness" advice: Men with thinning hair can possibly slightly improve their looks by shaving their hair entirely.

Mannes AE. Shorn Scalps and Perceptions of Male Dominance.

This is just one of your “but” mechanism. What I wrote is a drop in the ocean of reversing depression and obsession. The victim will do just about anything to contradict anything against his views. You used Google and some random text for it. In the same manner, one can rationalize in the following way:

This article is written by one person and expresses his views. The article only addresses a tiny percentage of people on a certain area and does not project the views of all people. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. There are far more important aspects of a person for love, friendship etc. I can go on and on.

So this attempt to strengthen your views is normal but it’s also pointless and false. It’s the first thing a person will do.

If you truly want help I can send you a PM about what to read.

No and no.

Fight club is an edgy film that once upon a time was cool and genuine. Peterson is an absolute joke of a person, a parrot of plagiarism. If you want to heal, you have to find the right tools and strength. You won’t find them online. I would help you but since you’re all so fast to discredit my words and laugh at this before you give it a chance, stay here and rot.

It’s very funny that you’re all shut ins with zero social interactions or sexual encounters that deeply you want to change things but you’re quick to take a sh*t on my face for trying. Don’t blame anyone but yourself for who you are. It certainly isn’t your hair.

You are a being very judgmental and you are stereo-typing everyone on the forum. My life is nothing like what you describe. People were responding to you seriously in your first topic, they were not sh*tting on your face.

Idk, the fact that 8 years later you’re here?
I am here to look for information and to engage in the discussions that interest me. I like reading and writing. I want to maintain my hair and get some regrowth. There is no cure for this disease, so yeah, I have been around for a long time. My hair started thinning at a ridiculously young age.

@not_bald

I appreciate your advice though, it's legit and I agree for the most part. Although you can also not deny the impact of looks in the contemporary western world, looks didn't matter much for men in the past, it matters now. Not saying it's the only factor though but let's be honest...

I’ll send you a PM with a book to read. It changed me and it can change you. Don’t share it with the rest.

Can you dudes for once stop being triggered and answer with honesty? Yes you’re here because you wait for a cure and you’re obsessed. That’s the only reason anyone would be here.

You're here, does that mean that's why you're here?
