Those of you on the fence about products like Nanogen

I finally tried Nanogen last night and put it on again today and I have to say IT IS AMAZING!

I know there's a lot of new people that come here and ask the same questions, and go through all the research of products and are stressed out.

I went through all of that and when it came to this powder like stuff I had my doubts and thought it wouldn't work well, but it's amazing! It's amazing how real it looks and how easy it is.

I am thinning on the crown and just a little bit of Nanogen goes a long way and I look like I have a full head of hair! I am also about to try Dermmatch, I have that coming in the mail right now.

Those of that you use Nanogen, how well will it hold up with strong gusts of wind? Will it blow out? I haven't had a chance to test that yet, but I don't want to be out in public and it starts to get windy and all of a sudden there's powder or dust like stuff blowing from my head! Can anyone chime in?

But anyway, I just wanted to post this to tell all the new people that come along that you owe it to yourself to try out a product like Nanogen!

Why does this thread have hundreds (over 800 at the moment) of views and no replies? And how are there so many views in such a short time? lol, I didn't think this board had THAT many users.

Maybe Google searches?

That's a good question, and I don't really know. I just read some posts here and read up a bit on the manufacturer web sites and decided to try the fiber/powdery route. Toppik and Nanogen seemed to be the most used and talked about here so I just went with it. Also, the video on the Nanogen website went a long way for convincing me, haha. Seeing how good it looked when they put it on the video was shocking to me. I had no idea I could even get a product that would make me look like that!

The Dermmatch seems interesting though because it seems like it will hold up better. The video shows the guy swimming with it in, and I've heard other people say good things about it here also. We'll see, but so far Nanogen has me so excited! I would definitely recommend it.

I'm guessing that's a techy fault, it's in the thousands now, and you only posted this a couple of days ago? Not usual in this forum!

I agree, Nanogen is great, MUCH better than toppik. I used Toppik for more than a year but after I discovered Nanogen I am NEVER using toppik again. The nanogen fibres are smaller and really stick to your hair, not just the scalp, and Nano stays there, even in heavy wind. And it's much more natural looking.

he-bat, that's good to know about the heavy wind part. I was wondering about that! And I can't say anything about Toppik, I haven't tried it, but I just went with Nanogen based on what I read on here and I'm happy with it!

You won't be disappointed. And if you are, than I can promise, you would be even more disappointed with Toppik. I was out of Nanogen the other day but had some left over Toppik so I used it. My hair looked horrible and someone even asked me what kind of crap I had in my hair. I am so greatful for Nanogen. Look at the video at Nanogen.co.uk

Then you used too much. Put too much Nanogen in your hair and it will do the same thing.

Sorry, but until Nanogen comes up with a sprayer like Toppik did, I'm not going to use it. I don't know if it was just this last order of Nanogen I received, but the holes in the dispenser were too big or something, because no matter how I held the bottle, it came out in clumps, and landed on my head the same way. And no, I do not store it in a place where it can get wet.

It should not come out in clumps. I have used like 50 cans and it has never happened to me. Maybe your Nanogen was damaged on the way to you, maybe they stored it in a wet and cold place when they were shipping it to you. You should give it another change. It's a good product.

yeah you do get the odd sh*t batch its only happend to me twice in like 4 yrs though. I think it must be storage issue, eg the container got cold or wet.

I've bought Nanogen twice. All the rest of the years I have been using these types of things it was Toppik and Hairsoreal, which I started out with, and I never had a problem with them.

But like I said before, Nanogen would need to come out with a sprayer like Toppik's spray maximizer before I would ever try them again. It really does help disperse the fibers in a more consistent manner, and is especially good on the hairline, which is where I need it to cover up my transplants.

I know I could cut the Nanogen bottle and put it in an old Toppik bottle, but why don't they just make bottles with tops that come off like Toppiks so we don't have to go through that hassle?! That and I am afraid of doing something to my sprayer and I don't want to mess up what works good.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I used Nanogen for the first time in public today! It was the start of the fall semester and I used it for going to class. I haven't used it in public yet because I don't know... I guess things like that bother me... as far as what other people are seeing. Like I know I would be sitting there wondering what the people beside me or behind me are thinking about, and if they can see what's in my hair. I think it went well though!

I can only guess that Toppik have some kind of patent on the maximiser spray. Plenty of people have raised this issue before, they prefer nanogen as a fibre but want to be able to use the spray.

It took me roughly 7 seconds (yes, seconds) to pry out the sieve on my Nanogen bottle (via a screw driver) & then maybe 2 seconds to dump into my Toppik container. Now screw on the Toppik Spray Applicator (the pump) & you're game. Not difficult at all. So don't refrain from trying Nanogen just because it doesn't come w/ a pump.
