Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, mods move it if you want to.

Hey, I posted this post in another thread already, but I wanted to help as many of you as possible. It's a little bit long I guess, but it is very helpful. It's about how you can reduce/get rid of dark circles.

I wrote:

"About your problems with dark circles, I had these horrible dark circles that made me look like a zombie and I was sometimes asked if I was in a fight or something, that's how bad it was. I think Minoxidil caused them. What's worse is I have hereditary dark circles to begin with, but I knew something was wrong, they weren't supposed to be that dark.

Well 2 weeks ago I looked into what I can do to reduce dark circles because they were really driving me crazy and nothing was working to reduce them, and I didn't just want to cover them up like girls do, I wanted to make it go away. I bumped in to this eye cream "Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Ageless Lifting & Firming Eye Cream with Natural Shitake Complex"[I know it's a long name] in Amazon dot com. I read the reviews, it had mostly positive reviews and a good rating, so I bought a bottle[they're small but they can go a long way, you don't need to use a lot]. I bought it in hopes to just reduce my dark circles and make it lighter, but I was being realistic and took the reviews with a grain of salt, not expecting any big change. Well I have been using it for 1 week now[yes 7 days], twice a day[after waking up, and before going to sleep], long story short, my dark circles are completely gone. My under eye skin hasn't looked this good since, I was probably 5[I've had dark circles since a very young age] I remember as long ago as 2nd grade, having dark circles. I am being completely honest, this stuff really works and using Kirkland's minoxidil 5% everyday twice a day, i'm gonna need more of this stuff. I'm definitely gonna order more, and any one else who's suffering from dark circles should get this, you won't regret it, thank me later.

Sorry for the long post, and no i'm not an Aveeno representative or anything like that, check my history, this is my first post talking about Aveeno. Just trying to help fellow baldies look better. If you can't look better by growing hair, try enhancing your looks in every other way possible. At 22 years old, I just can't give up on my looks yet.

I promise this is not :spam:

I am a hair loss sufferer like every one else here, and i've been a victim of bad dark circles most likely from Minoxidil but I can't just stop using minoxidil like that. Just trying to help. I'm going on my 2nd week of using this eye cream, I am excited to see what results I get in 1 month.

Yes, cool, and you're welcome.

Now how the heck can I reduce bloated face, without stopping minoxidil?

And damn son, 2,718 posts since 2009. That's about as many posts as I have in a boxing forum I post in, that I have been a member of since 2006.

:bravo:

Well that's the real problem isn't it? I quit Minoxidil because of these symptoms, you could take a diuretic but the ones that work have potential side effects of their own.

What do you use instead of minoxidil?

Okay, i've never heard of that, but I just researched it. I see it's eye drops, with the side effects:

1. May cause thickening of the eyelashes.
2. It may cause unexpected growth of hair if applied inappropriately, on the cheek, for example.

Has any one ever tried this on the scalp with any success or are you going to experiment with it for the first time?

what was the darkness caused by?

Darker skin color, or those dark blue veins showing through the skin?

Thanks for the rec. I'm always skeptical about these kinds of creams, but after reading your review and some other reviews, I am going to give it a shot. I will report back here after trying it out for a couple of weeks.

I bought it from Amazon on a whim after reading this thread the other day... probably too early to judge its effectiveness, but initial first impression... it does absorb much more evenly and completely than other creams that I've used. So far so good!

I'm going to start Bimatoprost soon, but at a higher concentration then used in Lattise

Lattise can have the unfortunate side effect of changing the pigment of the iris of your eye. I'm not sure I would mess around with that, particularly on your hair and scalp where it can be absorded systemically.

Cool, i'm glad I helped a couple of you. Just use it twice a day everyday and let me know how it went for you guys. I'm pretty sure it will work even better on some one who does not have hereditary dark circles like me, if you just got dark circles from minoxidil, or you just don't sleep well, then this cream should eliminate it easily. As I type this, I have no dark circles whatsoever, and i'm tired and sleepy, my eyes feel heavy, but still you can't tell, thanks to this Aveeno cream. I hope it works just as good for you guys. I just can't believe how old having dark circles made me look, I look younger now without them.

Darker skin color around the eye. It was getting really bad, and my friends were pointing it out to me. Like I said, it was looking like I had been punched or something. I know very well, that those were not my natural dark circles, they had to be caused by something i'm on.

But it's whatever now, they're gone. I can stay on minoxidil while not having dark circles now.

I have to tip my hat to the OP. I started using this product a couple of days ago and can say that i've seen an improvement in the dark areas under my eyes. It's not anything life changing, but, it does seem to be working somewhat. Gonna stick with it, hopefully will keep improving.

Why would Minoxidil cause wrinkles? Could you show me a before and after picture to show what you are talking about? This is one I have to see to believe.

You're right! How'd you figure out that it doesn't cause wrinkles??

Did you google your question, "Why would minoxidil cause wrinkles?" Wish I'd thought of that. :smack:

Don't worry wise *** I did my homework. I went to realself.com and every doctor on there said there is no link between minoxdil use and wrinkles. One doctor did theorize that many men start getting wrinkles at a similar time to when they start balding, so instead of blaming the aging process, they blame the minoxidil. If you are young and the wrinkles started very shortly after starting the minoxidil, and you can produce the pics, than I will stand corrected. Of course I know and you know that you won't produce the pics

Well after 3 years of dark circles under my eyes and staff and managers asking me if ive had a late on.... or boy you look nackered comments or the fact I look 10 years older with darker circles, I tried a few things out....

Tried E45 derma cream on my face and sadly it made my skin smoother and only a little helped with the dark circles so after 4-5 days stopped that....

So I tried bio oil for a week which is designed to help even the tone of skin and get rid of dark patches... no joy there only just mildly helped.

Im now trying Vaseline under the eyes ive been trying it for 2 days and ill try it till next week, but again so far just mildly helped.

Moral of story, need to buy some Aveeno.... Sadly ill have to order it from states amazon website since im in uk so much harder to source that cream. But im really hoping it can bring the difference and bring some youth back to me !
