If the side effects from Propecia worries you, stay away! The drug has far more effects on your body than Merck and the FDA would like you to think - not to mention the possibility of getting horrible side effects that persist after stopping treatment with Propecia.

The drug has done some serious damage to a lot of people (some have committed suicide because of it), and Merck is now facing law suits.

Btw, how much zinc are you using? It works as an aromatase inhbitior, and may aggravate hair loss. I wouldn't use it, as estrogen protects hair. Saw palmetto is a reductase inhbitor too (same type of drug as finasteride, but the potency is unknown), and some people have been fucked up by using it.

Do your homework.

Reducing the dosage won't make the side effects subside, because there is no difference between 0.25, 0.5 and 1 mg finasteride! Even 0.05 mg (!) finasteride inhibits 50% serum DHT, as opposed to around 70% DHT from the other dosages that's mentioned. Good luck with managing microdoses of finasteride, and the side effects/benefit ratio.

There is only one reason to lower the dosage, and that's to reduce the cost.
