I feel light-headed. Is anything even capable of affecting someone that fast? Placebo effect maybe? :dunno:

jesus man you need to get that sh*t out of your head. i used to get things just like that but maybe a bit more severe. even thinking about a couple of triggering things would make me pass out pretty much guaranteed, if not then extremely light headed and dizzy. it's a panic attack- maybe yours wasnt full blown but you're just scaring yourself into feeling physical symptoms.

stop worrying, brother :) you're taking the right steps to combatting hairloss, that's a good thing

In a sneaky way. What does that mean?

finasteride does not get to work in 5 minutes. And, if it did, light headedness isn't one of the commonly reported side effects.

It's all in your head. Give it a few days. Probably the worst you might have is a slight testicle ache on and off for a few days.

Just report back if you feel anything REALLY weird, I doubt you'll have anything in your first day.

i'm not english motherlanguage but i guess is the right term

i mean that sometimes u could not understand when u start to get sides.

I used finasteride for many years without notice any sides, but now, thinking back, i know had them.

little decrease of libido, little bit less active, little difficult in concentration ...
I never relate that to fina since i crashed and some sides became evident.

And believe me, sometimes i hoped that i had been mistaken on complaining about fina

Well, I'm out. My 1st pill will be my last. I've been reading this board for the past hour, most of these threads, the one with Dr. Crisler and the one you just linked and "How to Deal with side effects from Finasteride," and I have been completely terrified away from this drug.

I would rather lose hair, than go through the **** someone like yourself or Ender goes through dealing with the fallout! Hopefully, minoxidil, spironolactone, and Nizoral will be a decent combo. If not, I'll get tricomin.

Are you kidding me?

5 minutes is barely enough time to allow the medication to dissolve in your stomach, let alone be absorbed into your bloodstream, block DHT, and have any noticeable effects on your system.

Trust me, from a man who has been through the absolue worst of anxiety, your mind is playing tricks on you. There is absolutely no way you could have any effect after 5 minutes. As mentioned before, lightheadedness is one of the most common side effects of anxiety and/or panic attacks. Again, from someone who has had thousands of panic attacks in his life, take my word for it.

I've been on the drug for a month now with absolutely no side effects. Don't let those other threads scare you; Enden created them to inform, and to let people know what to do when experiencing side effects. Unlike the scaremongers on propeciahelp, most people here (including Enden I believe, but I won't speak for him) aren't on a quest to stop everyone taking the drug and shut down merck, but just to be aware of how to respond to side effects if you are one of the unlucky 1 or 2% that experiences them.

My doctor even told me today while I was getting a refill that he has only seen a handfull of people complain about side effects, and has been prescribing the drug for over 5 years. No other treatments come close to Finasteride in terms of effectiveness in the long run.

It was an overreaction. That I admit... But I've made my decision to not take this drug based on the potential harm. Not going to fall back on a "oh, it won't happen to me" mentality when you have a chance of growing manboobs, impotency, having a shrunken unit, permanent hormonal imbalance, etc. The stress of worrying about the possibility of that, outweighs the potential benefit of finasteride to me.

Good choice, I have used finasteride with zero sides for 15 years but you don't have the mental makeup to use this drug, you just set a new record for sides, 5 minutes, lol

Seriously unless you can gett he sides out of your mind ( chances are you will be fine) then don't take it

Hate to keep bumping this topic, but...

I've been thinking, I've been taking saw palmetto pills for 2 years. I wonder if the transition would be easier on my body because I've already been on a DHT blocker? :dunno:
