Hi,

I've been using oral finasteride for 5 years, but after like 4 years, the side effects started: less libido, different feeling. It started very mildly, so for quite some day, I didn't know what was happening and if it's the finasteride pills.

Ultimately, I stopped taking them. This was approximately 3,5 years ago. I still have the side effects.

The problem: It worked really good. Now I'm losing my hair rapidly and I'm thinking about topical finasteride. All I read so far about it is, in a nutshell: It does go systemic (even though one doctor I talked to claimed otherwise). So there is a chance of side effects again.

- Has anyone had this kind of side effect (libido, erection) from topical finasteride?

- Has anyone had this side effect from oral finasteride, but not from topical finasteride?

I'm afraid that if I try and will not realize the side effects until it's too late and the already existing side effects are exacerbated permanently.

THANK YOU

What side effects do you still have? And what did you do to try and recover?

And to answer, you have some alternatives.

-zix if you're not balding that aggressive
-zix+needling or minoxidil+needling combo
-topical duta, check out the thread about that

Do you have a link to a good threat on treating side effects? I got ED from either RU or duta. Took duta for 8months (before it gave facial bloatedness and beard loss) and RU for 1m. Been off duta for 1.5m and off RU for a day lol. Kind of scared since I am 22. At the moment just riding it out on fina and hoping for the best.

Yeah in most cases you will recover, so wait for 3/6 months. If not better time to do a PCT (or multiple) to get you back on track. So clomid, nolvadex, HCG,...

Someone also recovered with proviron after 12 years of PFS.

Okok, still hopeful ;) thank you. I saw on another threat that you use zix. I keep seeing it around and after googling its use as a topical dht blocker I'm wondering if its useful to add it to my regime? I am currently on oral finasteride fo the androgenic battle. Will zix prevent even more dht production on the scalp or will finasteride leave nothing for it at all considering the assumed lower potency of zix compared to other topical 5-alpha inhibitors? Have yet to look into it, but where do you get your zinc and B6? What concentration and vehicle do you make it in, would I be able to combine it with CB or OH-flut or ceti or Diclofenac in the same solution? Is zix your only current dht blocker/AA?

Thank you in advance man, greatly appreciated. Also whats this discord all about?? Sorry for all the questions.

I'm sorry to hear about your struggle. I hope this mystery will one day be resolved. To answer your question though, yes, I did get side effects from a rather small amount of topical finasteride. Namely using about 0.12mg daily in a solution of 0.025%. The side effects were: testicular pain (mostly subsided after a week), tiredness and most importantly...face pain. I'm not even kidding. I'd have weird pain radiating from my jaw, through my facial muscles plus there was a pain under my eyes. Also I could literally feel the bags under my eyes the whole day. I had the same thing a while back when I tried topical alfatradiol. This side effect started after around one week of treatment. I discontinued the drug 4 days ago and I already feel much better.

I used oral Finasteride at the start in 2010 and had major sexual side effects, I used horny goat weed and zinc daily. This helped remove all my issues from sexual side effects and ever since I been using Topical Finasteride without any side effects and success.

I used different compound pharmacies as I am in the United Kingdom, all were based in America that shipped to most world wide countries.

Consider Topical Finasteride and they also mix Minoxidil into the lotion or you can opt for Finasteride compound alone Topically.

I posted a thread here, they give forum members 10% discount:
