Topical Finasteride from Farmacia Parati

Quick background: I live in the U.S. and I'm about to order Topical Finasteride 2.5% Liposomal Gel from Farmacia Parati, which as many know is a compounding pharmacy in Italy. My prescription has been approved, I can order any time now. 2.5% is way higher than most topical finasteride out there, but I'm told by Hasson and Wong in Canada, who uses the base from Parati for their own version of 2.5% Topical Finasteride, that this special formulation is highly effective at avoiding systemic absorbtion, and thus side effects in their patients. I can't order from Hasson and Wong due to regulations, so I am using Farmacia Parati. Which leads me to my questions.

1. Has anyone tried topical finasteride 2.5% from Farmacia Parati? Did you experience side effects? How did they compare to sides from other topical finasteride formulations you've tried? And was it effective?

2. They charge 100 Euros for a 100ml bottle, but the shipping cost was 60 Euros in addition to that, which seems quite high for a single bottle. Is this similar to what others have been charged?

Thanks guys

OK, I found the answer to #2 in the forum, looks like 60 Euros is their standard price for shipments to the US.
Would still love to hear any feedback on #1.

People have had sides with topical finasteride. 2.5% in an insane concentration and it will accumulate for sure.

Just so you know, I've had sides after 6 months on 0,01% concentration daily.

Gonna have to agree with Francis on this one. There may be a benefit to using a liposomal vehicle, but the idea that it's so effective at avoiding systemic absorption that a 2.5% formulation wouldn't have any systemic effect is pretty ridiculous. 2.5% is just way too much, unless you only care about effectiveness rather than safety.

i would just skip topical finasteride and go straight to dutasteride which by the looks if it now, is giving me less side effects but better results.

*topical dutasteride I assume

He's right, I would recommend topical dutasteride over topical finasteride, but this mostly matters if you want to adopt the safe approach as my mate @corkmeister says. There is a whole thread on this forum about topical dutasteride. Check it out.

i'm sorry to bother you but seems to be really knowledgable on the subject and cause i'm a pure retard what's the safest option to reduce systemic absorption / drop in serum dht and avoid accumulation in the system between a lose of topical finasteride 0.008 % 3ml applied only 3 times a week and a low dose topical duta applied once a week? the thing is that i'm worried of the rise in scalp T using duta cause i used oral finasteride and dutasteride back in the day and my hairline kept on receding.

thanks

It’s such a pain in the a$$ having to get a Dr to stamp the sheet.

If you want to reduce the systemic level of finasteride maybe you could try supplementing with johns wort.
