Topical solutions for frontal thinning

I currently have been trying to find a topical solution to help with frontal thinning. I have used Minoxidal without success. Also used Avacor previously and it worked great but they changed their formula to minoxidal for legal purposes and now the old version is unavailable. I'm not looking for something to coat the hair but to actually thicken the hair follicle over time. Any suggestions?
