Does anyone know where I can buy some topical spironolactone (that ships to UK)... preferably the liquid solution.

I've been using minoxidil.com but am a bit reluctant now since I heard of people getting their cards scammed on there!!!

I would like to share my experience with my minoxidil.com purchase here. Nowhere during the checkout process or on their site that it mentions a medical report must be on file in order to order their products until AFTER you have placed the order. They will take your card and other sensitive info, after all is said & done, their thank you page will say this:

"*If you have not completed a medical consultation with Dr. Lee, your order will be canceled, and all credit card information destroyed. You may reorder again, after you have completed a consultation with Dr. Lee. For a consultation please contact _____"

I emailed them expressing my discontent and they replied me this:

"Your order has been cancelled, and you might best be served by trying elsewhere for your drugs.

Regards,

Dave Dorius,
Regrowth, LLC"

The worse online experience I have ever had. If I find out that they did charge me, I'll post here again.

They know their products are not easily found elsewhere (if at all). They know some of us are desperate to save our hair. So their attitude is that "we're jerks but what the hell are you going to do about it?".

It's $20 and its money well spent. Dr Lee will actually answer questions online, and is very responsive. At least as good as my personal doctor, whom I pay $200 per month for medical/kaiser, whether I talk to him or not. And it makes it pretty clear that you need a consultation. As far as spironolactone goes, don't expect miracles. Even Dr Lee told me to get propecia through my personal Doctor, as spironolactone would not do as much, and I am allergic (low blood pressure) to minoxidil.

Thank you for the info. Whether it's money well spent or not is irrelevant now cos' they explicitly rejected my business as you can see in their reply to me. I read up about spironolactone all day yesterday so I know that I shouldn't expect miracles with it.

You stated you emailed them and they replied that way but I would be very interested in seeing the actual email you sent to trigger such a response. I say this because I have been using his site for years and never had anything but great service and also when you buy from him you know your minoxidil is legit rather than some of the shady new companies popping up that sell on Ebay, Amazon and other places (I would mention their names but they are word censored now for spamming in the past).

Were you discontent about the Doctor visit first before they send you meds? If so it clearly states that on the Terms of Service before you order that is their process. Maybe you just did not read the Terms before you ordered? :dunno:

Hi Moderator,

“Clearly Stated on Terms of Serviceâ€￾? And you see this where?

I browsed their whole site all over again and there is none. No fine print no disclaimer of any sort to state that medical consultation is mandatory prior to ordering. Please try it yourself. The only place that includes this phrase: “US Residents: Click here to arrange for a consulation with Dr. Leeâ€￾ is under their Contact Us tab on top. Click on it to see what happens. Nowhere does it imply that it was a prerequisite & mandatory step in order to order. I am totally okay with such requirement btw. What I’m not okay with is that before I submit my payment info to them, they should have let me know about this. Ordering & then canceling the next moment isn’t fun or okay cos’ they already harvested my card #, my billing info, etc. Now they can do whatever they want with it, maybe tomorrow, maybe a few months from now. Do you want some company to play with your sensitive info like this?

So far, am I being unreasonable here?

Thanks for listening btw.

It states it in 2 places. Before you place your order it states it and you have to agree to proceed and right under FAQ in Terms of Service it states..

"The FDA has determined all the drugs listed at http://www.minoxidil.com are available by-prescription-only, and can only be dispensed directly to patients, for their own personal use. Regrowth, LLC is not licensed as a pharmacy". Right there alone they are telling you that you need to be a patient of Minoxidil.com to obtain their meds and again, you have to select before purchase that "you have read and understand all......." before proceeding to checkout. I remember the first time I ordered and I saw that myself.

I am not trying to "pick" on you but your first post you dug up a 2 month old thread and want to bash a company that alot of use and never had a problem with so that throws up a flag to me. Again, I am sure just by reading the tone in your posts here that you must have been "not so nice" in your email to them and hence they responded in a professional manner that you "may be better served somewhere else" and that is what you posted they said. Just as you have a right to post what you did, I have a right to clarify that what you have stated is not 100% because their site does in fact tell you that you need to be a patient and it does so twice before you order.

I am not going to let this thread be turned into a pissing match over another site's policies either. If you do not want to order from them, then do not but I do not see the point in joining a hair loss forum and make your first post on a 2 month old thread about a site most of us know that you have to become a patient of in order to get your meds.

BTW you can get spironolactone cream from this site too. It's called S5.

This site has S5 back in stock? Then how come the IN STOCK icon isn't there for this very item?

I would've given you guys the biz before I attempted to order from the other site if such icon was present.

BTW, I emailed you guys 2 days ago asking the ETA for S5 but heard back nothing, thus I assumed that S5 wasn't in stock & that you didn't even have an ETA yet. Do you now?

Well I have nothing to do with the sales here nor do I get the emails regarding them, I assume you emailed the Admin who does. I will email him and verify if the S5 is in stock or not and PM you and let you know.

guys i'm really confused about this. I have just made my second order for topical spironolactone from Dr lee and i had no idea you needed a consult in order to receive products?

In fact i ordered topical spironolactone a month ago and received it no problems without completing a consult?

Here, I found this right under the Introduction to the site. On the main page it states his Meds are prescription and then under the Introduction it explains it with questions and answers. See below....

Q. If I live in the U.S.A., can I purchase the products listed within your Secure Order Form without being a patient of Dr. Lee or Dr. Clifford?A. No. The FDA has determined all the drugs listed at http://www.minoxidil.com are available by-prescription-only, and can only be dispensed directly to patients, for their own personal use. Regrowth, LLC is not licensed as a pharmacy..

Q. How do I get prescriptions for Dr. Lee's products?
A. Click on the email link: Regrowth@minoxidil.com and write CONSULTATION in the Subject line of your email. You will be sent medical forms. Dr. Lee will review the completed forms, answer any questions you have about your hair loss, and decide if you might benefit from using the drugs listed at http://www.minoxidil.com.

Q. If I live outside the U.S.A, do I have to have a prescription or doctor's consultation to purchase the products listed within your Secure Order Form? A. Since you live beyond the jurisdiction of the U.S. FDA, you do not need prescriptions or a doctor's consultation to place orders. It’s to your advantage, however, to first consult with Dr. Lee via email. Please request email consultation forms for this purpose.
