How great? Nobody has made ANY comments about my keratin filled head! Not even my parents, brothers, friends, or co-workers have made any positive or negative comments. In fact, nobody seems to notice or even look at my hair. Heck, I even went to my barber for an edge-up on my sideburns, and he didn't even notice or say anything at all.

Let me give some background again:

I began as a Norwood 3V. I only had diffuse balding on my vertex or crown. I have been on minoxidil, ketoconazole shampoos, biotin, and laser therapy for about 8 months now. In the process, my hair seems to be thicker and fuller, and I no longer lose hairs while combing or shampooing my hair. Also, my naturally dark brown hair seems to have changed to a very dark black color.

Despite all that therapy, the bald spot on my vertex has not TOTALLY restored. It does look better, but I was hoping for more hair. My solution was Toppik and/or Caboki. I simply apply a small dose of these keratin fibers to my vertex, and magically the bald spot is gone. It looks so real that it even fools me. I am totally amazed and happy with the results.

So.....I just wanted to say that I highly recommend Toppik or Caboki if you are noticing mild hair regrowth. These keratin fibers don't work very well on totally bald heads. But, if you are experiencing mild hair regrowth or thickening, definitely give this a chance. You must have at least some hairs on your head in order for this to work.

Good luck everyone!

I started taking propecia 1 week ago again and libido is down the hill so is the erection. I dont want to go bald man not at this bloody age, my self esteem is really low though I do have good looks (being humble), but knowing that i dnt have mucb hair leaves me with low self esteem. I havent pulled a girl for a few yrs though i get many signala from girls i see out and about trust me i do alot! But im too pussy to go and talk cos of the balness though it is coveres with cabboki still its depressing. How can i improve my hair? Continue on finas? And how long should i keep cabboki on my hair? I know it sounds dirty keeping it for longer than 1 day but daily washing off makes me lose more hair during the washing off part. If i stay on propecia will the no erecrion stay after discontinuing use at later age? Bro i want to have sex when i can and not carry v**** everyday. First, don't feel bad about hair loss. It is common in millions of men around the world. Some men actually look very good with bald or buzzed heads. Some good examples are Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson, Morris Chestnut, and many more. Muscular men with bald heads typically do very well with the ladies, so I also recommend that you make an effort to hit the gym. That's my personal suggestion.

As for me, I started using minoxidil, ketoconazole shampoo, and Biotin vitamins to stop hair loss. After 8 months of diligently following my regimen every single friggin day, I can honestly tell you that my results have been great. My hair grew thicker and stronger, and I have virtually stopped all hair loss in the shower. In the past I used to find large mounds of my hair in the shower drain, but now I see as little as 2 to 3 fallen hair strands each time I shower. I don't know if I regained lost hairs, but the hair loss definitely stopped. Keep in mind that I'm in my 40s. You might have significantly better results than me since you are only 20 yrs old.

BTW, before I started my hair regimen I first went to a good men's barber (not a women's salon) and buzzed off all my hair. I typically asked for the "double zero" clippers all around the sides and the "half inch" clippers on top. I would cut it this short every 2 weeks. I figured that I would get better results with minoxidil and ketoconzale shampoo if I kept my hair short, because that way no long hairs would interfere with the chemicals reaching my follicles on my scalp. This was just my preference though.

So, why not first give minoxidil, ketoconazole shampoo, and Biotin a try? You have to be patient, but it should start to kick in after 5 to 6 months. I have never tried Propecia or Finasteride, so I can't really offer any advice there. But, I kinda feel that Propecia should be the last resort if minoxidil, ketoconazole, and Biotin don't produce good results.

As for Caboki, it seems to look good on me after 2 days at most. After 3 days not washing my hair and leaving Caboki in my hair it started to look bad. So, I would definitely say wash out the Caboki after 1 or 2 days.

But, first things first....try to regrow and keep your hairs with minoxidil, ketoconazole, and Biotin. Give it some time, at least 6 months. You are only 20 yrs old and you have plenty of time to see results. If you are not happy after 6 months, maybe add Propecia or Finasteride to this regimen. Once the hairs start growing back, then you can add some Caboki to the areas of your head that have thinned the most.

Okay, other people here might have better suggestions, but I am giving you my honest opinion here. It has worked for me, and I think you have a good chance to see good results if you follow my plan.

Good luck!

I agree, Toppik works wonders.

BUT has anyone noticed that the price has increased dramatically over the last year? I bought 55g in Germany last October for 40€ and I thought THAT was expensive. It's nearly finished so I went online to buy a new one today and the price has shot up to 70€.

WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's nearly a 100% mark up.

Does anyone have an effective alternative? I can't fork out 70€ for this.........that would make these little fibers the most expensive part of my regime! Way more expensive, than finasteride, min, and nizoral.

Hey man, just buy the powder off ebay. I think its just called something like "Keratin Hair building Fibers" or something along those lines. It's not an official brand, but it's really cheap and works fine for me (i have tried both nanogen and the cheap Ebay product.)

Time to call it quits

After using these products for around 2 years I've decided to call it quits for a couple of reasons.
1) The mess even being careful isn't going to help.
2) When people say: "Let me wear your hat bro?" You know its going to be all around your head unless you've cleaned every last particulate.
3) Ran out of hair for it to attach to and it started to look like I've used a permenant marker on my head.
4) You'll eventually need to use more and more.
5) Lastly it alsways seemed to look imperfect for me no length of time could seemed to cure this.

Conclusion: it's a great long/short term solution but it'll only look worse with time so make the most of it while you can :).

Has anyone here have any experienced using both Caboki or Toppik and if so, what would you recommend or prefer?

I use keratin fibers (the cheaper version) but they work just as well as Caboki or Toppik. I would recommend for any diffuse thinners to fill in spots that aren;t thick. it defintiely gives the illusion of a full head of hair.

My advise is to get a hair transplant. That way you'll always have hair for the fibers to attach to. Hair transplants work. They're not perfect but if you're willing to use a concealer in conjunction with it, it's as close to being a perfect solution as you're going to get at this time.

I have both Toppik and Caboki. They're both pretty good. I use black, I think for crown and mid scalp caboki is great, gives an awesome illusion of hair, once during family dinner my mother examined my crown from inches away and she said it's amazing it looks like I have new hairs sprouting all of the sudden. Only thing with Caboki is that the fibers are kind of bigger than the Toppik ones so I think that for the frontal/hairline Toppik might be just slightly better. As for now I use just Caboki for my hair all over and it's pretty fine, I always ask my family members if they can tell anything weird looking, even when I try to point out a specific point and tell them it doesn't look natural to me they tell me that they can't tell anything odd about my hair. Although if you do get Caboki, the original applicator has huge holes and a lot of the stuff goes all over, what I did is I transferred Caboki fibers into Toppik container and I use Toppik's Spray Applicator, which is takes time to get used to but it's worth it.

Toppik works great on the crown for me. However on the fronts/hairline it does look good, but I sometimes have a problem making it look not to thick.

Yes! It has gotten expensive. I use fibers a lot so was looking for cheaper alternatives. I've been using Strand Maximizer hair fibers and they seem to work great.
