Transplanting hair onto a mole?

Hi everyone.

I am in the market for an hair transplant and will undergo one sometime 2010-2011.
I have a pretty large mole (smooth, non-protruding) on my scalp, and I was wondering, does anyone know if hair can be transplanted onto a mole or would it be wise to get it removed ASAP so it'll be healed till next year?

I reckon a surgeon would know the answer but I figured I'd maximize my potential response amount by asking here as well.
