hi guys,
i just turned 31 and have been dealing with diffuse unpatterned alopecia (dupa) since my late teens. i've been on finasteride for about a year at around 20yo but it didn't seem to do much, so i dropped it. my hair loss has been progressing slowly but surely since then. used to have normal to thick, wavy hair, which has turned thin and wispy.
as you can see in the pics i definitely don't have typical male pattern baldness. have good coverage with a near nw0 hairline, but overall lowish volume (including donor area), with the sides of my scalp being the thinnest area (they look terrible at longer lengths).
i was wondering if anyone here has had success with any treatments for dupa? would min/rolling be effective for this type of loss? fwiw, i did some bloodwork with a complete thyroid panel a year ago that came back normal except for low vit d and high-ish iron levels. i was surprised by the results, since i have many of the symptoms of hypothyroidism. are there any additional tests i could do to rule out some kind of autoimmune disease?
thanks in advance for any info!
