Try Finasteride A Second Time? What Dosage?

Hi all,

I tried Finasteride about 4 years ago with a dosage of 1mg (generic). After staying on it for about a year, I noticed no real affect on slowing/stopping my hair loss. As for side effects, my only experience was that when I initially started taking it, my libido felt a little higher for a couple weeks. Then it settled back to normal.

Now I'm 32 and my hair has been consistently shedding a bit more heavily and I'm really beginning to notice my hair thinning.

Should I give Finasteride a second go? Should I use a stronger dosage? What other things (shampoos, leave in products) should I combine to help maintain my hair? Thank you!

I would try dutasteride if finasteride did nothing in the span of a year, increasing the dosage of finasteride won't help.

What did happen with your hair when you stop finasteride?

It was business as usual. I would get sheds and then it would stop. But after turning 32 I've noticed a number of changes to my body and one of them is that I'm shedding more regularly. More body hair, less hair on top haha. So now I'm wondering if I should try Finasteride again, or perhaps the S5 Plus cream.

there are several pathways that lead to hair loss.
but for sure, if you did not experience side effects the first time, i would go with the big 3 (and for 3 i mean dermarolling and not nizoral) and i would supplement vitamin D/zinc and i would check for thyroid issues, just in case.
