Hello all,

I'm new to posting but have been reading these posts for a couple of months now. Well, here goes - I'm ready to start doing something. I'm considering this regimen.
1/5 Proscar Daily
5% or 7% Minoxidil 2xdaily
Nizoral 3-4xa week
Daily Flax seed oil
Multi-vitamin

Please give me any feedback or improvements to my regimen.
Here's my history. I started losing my hair at about 19, I'm what you would call a diffuse thinner. I don't exactly fit in the Norwood scale. I'm 26 now and it is pretty noticeable that I have a receding hairline with thinning all over my crown. I know I'll never get back to my teens, but I would love to get back to my early twenties.
I'm lucky enough to be able to get away with bicing my head, but I would love to have enough hair to not be uncomfortable going out in the sun for fear people will be able to see my scalp.
Thanks in advance for any advice and good luck to all.

Thanks Andrew :)

Quick question, I noticed you've been on Propecia for awhile. Have you had any side effects or anything? Reading these posts will make you nervous about gyno and the such.

I would do 1/4 proscar as 1/5 can be very hard to cut, its not even that easy to get the 4ths the same size

Don't worry about side effects until they start happeneing. Try not to be too paranoid. Your chances of having any SE's are pretty low. What I do recommend you do is take some "before treatment" photos of your hair so you'll be able to see your progress in a few months.

Drop the Flax oil, its bad for your prostate. Flax seeds are ok though.

Explain. Why is flax seed oil bad for the prostate? If so, what can I use to offset the decreased testosterone besides flax seeds? Don't say that the decreased testosterone doesn't exist either, it does. BruceLee recommended it for everybody that uses propecia or proscar.

If you need something to give your libido a kick in the pants, get the GNC Mega Man Multivitamins. Its an expensive bottle but it will last you a year. Just take one a day for 4 or 5 days and refrain from masturbation. Drink lots of water as well. You will be going nuts after 5 days.

Do not do what it recommends on the bottle and take 2 or 3 a day. The stuff is potent as hell and .. at least for me .. it was way overkill. I didn't tolerate 2 a day very well.

Its full of libido stimulating herbs and they do work.

Thanks for the thread on the flax seed, I find scientific data the best explanation. I most definitely will use the ground flax seed versus the oil. I'm not so much worried about my libido, I have yet to start on the proscar, though the time is just a paycheck away :!:

I did it, I ordered the fincar from inhousepharmacy.com, hopefully Cipla is legit. It sure is taking them awhile to get here, I ordered it a week ago and still no sign.
Anyway, HairLossTalk.com - I'm not worried so much about the drop in libido (strangely enough, I kind of need a friggin downer on that) I'm just worried about messing with my body's chemistry. I will always believe that my health is more important than most anything cosmetic.
I'm probably going to try the ground flax seeds, but I'd rather just pop a multi-vitamin. Anyway, thank you everybody for your opinion (they are very valued and appreciated), and I hope to post some 6 month pics once I start on the fincar. :)

So, it's been a month on the finasteride and about 1 1/2 or 2 on minoxidil. Also using the nizoral and just recently added the flax seeds. Thanks everybody for your contributions to my regimen. I'll keep you all posted.

By the way, my girlfriend has noticed a general thickness to my hair recently. It's a little too early to tell (plus I bic my head) but we are taking pictures. :)

Little bit of an update. I've been on the finasteride, minoxidil, and nizoral, for a little while now. The only side effects to the finasteride are watery ejaculate, which I think will hopefully go away.
I've gone through a bit of a shed recently. I'm not depressed or any jive like that, but it still kinda stinks. Hair's back, gone again sort of thing.
I've missed a couple doses of finasteride and have had to cut back minoxidil to once a day. (starting a new job, almost out of minoxidil), but I hope to be able to go back to 2x a day again.
Anyway, thanks everybody for your excellent advice!

p.s. I had to drop those flax seeds, I've never been so regular in my life. By regular I mean shitting every three hours, anybody else have that going on with the flax seeds? If so, does it go away?
