U.K. finasteride brand keeps changing - shedding

I order my finasteride off U.K. Meds, I typically buy a 2 months supply each time!

Each time I get the order, it is a different Finasteride brand. I notice as soon as I start this medication, I have immediate shedding, the last time this was quite notable. My hairline recovered after about a month.

I took on board the feedback I received from my thread and I now use RegenePure Dr and I have found that, this has helped.

anyway, I’m concerned about this and don’t want to continually have shedding each time I start a new prescription. Does anyone have any advice on this or a solution? I can’t afford genuine Propecia.

It’s not unheard of. Try and buy from a place which uses the same manufacturer?

Order from Lloyds pharmacy they give free consultation and sell the same generic and legit brand. Switching brands is not good as you will lose ground and experience shedding….

I have a brand that I only use. I let my pharmacist know not to fill my prescription if he isn't able to get it. I always call ahead of time to verify before picking it up. You could contact their support before ordering to let them know that you will only purchase the brand that you want. If they can't then you have to find a place that has it.

I get mine from oxford online pharmacy. You can buy 6 boxes of 28 tablets. I buy more when I have 2 or 3 boxes left just to be safe. It's been the same stuff every time.

Doesn’t make any difference.

Finasteride is Finasteride. What’s in the pill is exactly the same as each other.

Can you get your hands on some 5mg finasteride tablets? Cut them into 4ths.

Do they apply a discount or is it ~20 pounds for each box?

It works out cheaper the more you buy at once and as finasteride is something you take permanently you may as well buy 6 each time. 6 boxes is £58.94, 3 boxes is £34.54. You only save about £10 but the money you're saving adds up over time.

Utter rubbish. The active ingredient is no different. This is the UK with strict regulations.

Theres about four generic finasteride brands approved in the UK and 3 of them are made by Indian conglomerates that specialize in making the cheapest medicine as possible for the local Indian market

So are you suggesting they don’t contain 1mg of finasteride?

What brand do you take ?

What brand do you take ?

Ive taken about 15 types over the last 21.5 years
So are you suggesting they don’t contain 1mg of finasteride?
first 15 years little or no difference between brands, after the patent expired in 2014 ive had poor results on most of the Indian brands that have started since then.

Which generic brand would you recommend? And which website do you use?

also how much of the hair you had 20 years ago do you have now?

Cheers!!

I mostly buy it over the counter when im abroad (previously either Merck Proscar (5mg) or a obscure local generic Brand (5mg))
but I also used to get my Proscar directly prescribed by a GP or Hair transplant Doctor.
Proscar is Made by Merck, if you are in the UK and use 1mg generic you could try the the company that purchased Merck's generic pharmaceutical division (which is Mylan).

All the other 1mg brands available in the UK are owned Indian conglomerates.

I have had good results from Indian owned generics over the years, but not from the newer ones that appeared since 2014.

Most of it.....obviously the forehead has moved up a notch or two over that time though,
